Skimmed a couple of posts... to the guys defending the shyster: how are you all just glossing over the fact that he said he pulled the card when it was proven he purchased the card off eBay? The guy knows what he's doing when it comes to grading, and there's no chance he buys the card off eBay unless he plans on altering the card. It was a calculated scheme. Buy a card that is undervalued due to its condition, alter it, and make it a valuable card. He likely wouldn't do it with a gradable card, as gradable cards already provide him with adequate value.

It would be one thing if he pulled the card or was up front from the jump that he bought the card with the intention of testing Beckett, but he did neither. He lied about pulling it, and that destroys his credibility. He also claims he never intended on selling it, yet he listed it at a semi-reasonable price on eBay. So there's proof of him shilling, lying, and altering cards... When you tell everyone else to let it go or "it's just a mistake," you're passively condoning that sort of behavior. It's not a single instance, there's a pattern. If you want to stand behind someone like that, I seriously question your judgment and sense of ethics.

I didn't read all 13 pages here either due to the time but I see a couple things here.

1. Mike,I liked you and hated to hear this, BUT I don't think this was a joke. I think this was a TEST to see if you could pull it off with Beckett and it worked. Then you took it further and tried to sell it. The dumbest part of all was you told someone. Bragging gets you no where if you didn't notice and as for the "what are you gonna do about it" part. Well did you see this coming?

2. I'm confused why I hear people saying Beckett should take action. If anything I feel the guys here who spend tons of money with Beckett should take action. This totally makes Beckett look like a fraud IMO that will grade anything for the customers who do a lot of business with them. I mean how do they miss this? At the very least someone over there needs sent packing for grading this damn card and letting it hit the market in the first place. If Beckett grading is run by any of the same people that run the website then we all know they think about the almighty $1 and their reputation means little to them because they think they are untouchable.

I can say with 100% certainty it wasnt a friend who "bought" it on eBay. It was a member of this forum who hit the BIN to take it down via a newly created, fake account.

But yeah, like other smart people said, I would begin to question anything else that came from that source (that has any potential to be tampered with....ie. those terrible un#ed Aflacs). Healthy skepticism is good.
