I got an email telling me that I was mistaken and the pictures of sapphire cards were indeed just regular chrome cards..........
If Panini is smart, they are compiling this all as just part of their evidence as to why Fanatics shouldn't have a monopoly.

Not sure how it was today but the last few overseas have been a max 1 per person for non bot users. That's 1 per for the entire overseas all sites combined. On Soccer Reverence I managed to get like 5 or 6 orders from several of the sites and they canceled all but the first order.

Lol no case option. 12k+ boxes and not 1 single person that isn't part of the chosen few can get a case. Please tell me again how this is better than an auction where any person could buy as many cases as they want?

At least they didn't pretend to even give us the chance to buy cases! This monopoly thing is working out great!!

Cases aren't even an option.

This is as big of a backdoor as Topps has ever done. 1200 cases made and not a single one available to the public.

Entered for 5 boxes. At the minimum, I increase my odds of winning by at least 0.01% haha.

How is any of this enjoyable? I'm not picking on anyone, buy what you want, but what makes you guys keep wanting to play this game? Every new release seems like a miserable experience.

The thrill of the chase has gone from seeing what you get in packs to seeing if you can even secure a box. Fun.

Entered for 2 boxes with the sole intention of selling. Have no interest in any of this overpriced crap that Topps is selling, but I would like to make a couple hundred to spend on something worth the money.

And to dd above, no this isn't enjoyable at all.

Collecting is still fun. This arrangement with Topps is not. Both can happen.

I collect a c-tier character and I just wait for the multitudes of parallels to show up on eBay (from one of any sellers in China these days where I get multiple cards from a few). Collectors gonna collect. But we can also complain.

I think it’s more about making $ with these topps releases vs enjoying the sets..one can kinda tell that by the threads on these sets

Congrats to the EQL winners already moving these at $800+ (checked on 130point).

Wonder what the reception of this stuff will be once it gets ripped.
The 200 character checklist and price is gonna crush folks even in breaks.

"that was a rough case, get the next one in store", "/5 Ikaris, we'll take it!" lol

I can see this getting negative feedback like the wwe sapphire.
Won't matter tho. Fanatics will sell it all.

The only way this stops is if people stop buying. Stop joining breaks. Stop joining the EQL's. Just stop. That won't happen though.

I don't blame anyone buying this junk to flip it. If I could get my hands on any, I'd be reselling it as well. To anyone opening this at secondary prices...why?

Reason #555 that I think UD sets pick up more and more($$$ wise), as more and more overpriced Chrome sets come out. When you can buy a great UD sketch by a great artist for 1/5th the price of a random, garbage Topps sketch...make that make sense. When you can buy a UD comic cut with a great design of top tier characters for 1/5th the price of virtually the same Topps comic cut...make that make sense. Numbered stuff seems to be at least in the same ballpark, kind of. Topps is new, so I partially get that a /5 Spider-Man from Topps might be worth more than a /5 Spider-Man from UD, for now... But when 2030 Topps Chrome comes out for the 5th/6th year in a row... I could see that flip flopping(UD > Topps).

UD Marvel > Rittenhouse Marvel > Topps Marvel in my humble opinion...

We've seen this happen in sports many times and I don't see why it changes when talking about non-sports. Topps lost the basketball license and ALL Topps Chrome stuff went insane. UD lost the basketball license and MOST UD prices, specifically on high end, went insane. While early Panini stuff has already gone insane(Prizm), I'd guess it only stays high/goes higher when they lose the license.

Hopefully Topps/Fanatics can "fix" this wax issue. I said this in the first Topps Chrome thread and I'll say it again. If you can PUSH someone like me out, who's collected and bought cards for decades...you're left with a bunch of people flipping to other people who are flippers as well. No collectors at the base of your triangle to hold it all up

Here's how this works. Only people who sign up for the discord have their results shown. Having said that, after being in this discord for a year or so, it is ALWAYS a good indication of how much of a product Fanatics decides to put toward the EQL.

And let me tell you - seeing only 21 winners in the Discord is stupid low for a release with 12k+ boxes and no cases available.

Oof, no wonder I am a consistent loser in EQL.

Same on both. I have better luck dealing with broken websites than winning the lottery.

I do NOT like the Topps products thus far, but I have to play devil's advocate a little. On the whole, I think the Topps sketches are "better" than the UD ones. (I am not including Miller in that, who is only name recognition.) Part of that is maybe because less numbers of artists doing less cards. Maybe? 2025 Chrome has 23 artists. With few exceptions, UD had 75 or more. Many times 100 or more. I've also heard that Topps' timelines are more forgiving for the cards to be completed and returned.

Also the odds are longer in the Topps Marvel products than the typical UD products. This means prices are stronger. I create artist signature pages, so I am looking up sketchcards all the time. A Topps sketch that goes for, say, $250, would be $80 on UD stock. As you alluded to, maybe after a dozen sets that changes, but I don't think we'll ever see the sketch-per-box like Rittenhouse did back in the day.

The conversation is the same for Cuts. UD, quite honestly, made too many of them. While the issue selection for Topps has, so far, been lackluster, they're making far less.

EDIT: I'll also add I have only picked up base and parallels for my c-tier pc character from Topps, but the quality has been far better than UD. It doesn't really factor in with sketchcards, but they do have that going for them.

Agree with so much said here. Many longtime marvel collectors being pushed out of the hobby…if it’s even called a hobby at this point.

One small addition to that hierarchy though

Fleer/Skybox 90s > UD > Rittenhouse > Topps

It is not a coincidence that this lines up roughly with increasing percentage of original art sets. The UD and 90s Fleer is close, arguably a toss up…UD era with sketches and #’d cards for a much more interesting landscape than 90s Fleer. But also had plenty of rehashed art sets, which were almost nonexistent during the Fleer era..plus many inserts just ripped from sports. 90s era had some of the most creative sets/tech/plus much of the iconic art. Either way, both leaps ahead the current landscape of marvel cards.
