The Blazers are setting themselves up to have a ton of money this summer, so they can keep Dame and add help around him.

There isn't any help to add this summer as the free agent pool is very weak and the main "stars" wouldn't want to go to Portland, nor would Portland want them either

They have a pretty good gentleman's club scene... it's possible they want to make a run at Harden should the Sixers blow it. It also looks like Ayton may be on the move, especially if Phoenix falters in the playoffs. He's restricted, so someone will have to pay for him, but it seems like Phoenix is not attached to him and he could be a good pairing for Dame.

As I mentioned before though, I think Portland is trying to make it easy for Dame to say "ok I want to be traded to a contender".

Portland is basically in full re-build. I'll be surprised if Dame comes back to play this season.

Blazers weren't coming out of the West with their current roster (even if Dame returned).

As others have mentioned, they did Dame a PR favor by giving him a way out if he wants to go that route. Or maybe he turns into CP3 and embraces mentoring the young kids for a couple years.

Exactly. And then they will use the cap space to take on bad contracts for more picks while tanking next year for another lottery pick. I ultimately believe they are intending on selling the team. After Paul Allen died it transferred to his wife Jody and is ultimately managed by their business group. I think it would be a serious mistake for all parties to keep Dame at this point. If you love him, let him go.

You don't have to add via free agency. They have the ability to take on contracts via trades. They also now have more draft assets.

Now we know what Z has been doing in Portland... working on flipping CJ so he has a little dipper for his Gumbo Mutombo routine.

Overall terrible trade for NO... Zion is going to bring that franchise to its knees before he bolts for a larger market.

They are interested in Miles Turner. Harden and Beal could technically become available. Dame - Beal/Harde - ?? - ?? -- Turner with Simons as your 6th man would be serviceable.

So it is possible but I agree with most, in the sense that it is likely they are giving Dame the ammunition to ask to leave without the fall out.

We need a MASSIVE four team trade to shake things up...

Westbrook to the Nets
Harden to the Sixers
Lillard to the Lakers
Simmons to the Blazers
Filler to make the salaries work

Make it happen...

He’s already been spotted in New York

That is an egregiously bad trade for the Kings

What a trade for the Pacers. They get a great (and most underrated) young prospect on a rookie contract, another guy they can flip for a 1st and they didn't take in a bad contract.

From a value perspective, Sabonis for Haliburton + 1st seems fine...but what are the Kings doing? What's the plan? Where does Fox + Sabonis takes you?

The kings gave up the most talented player in the deal who was signed for longer on a rookie deal. Absolutely brutal for Kings fans

This is a terrible terrible deal for the Kings. They pay people millions to make these decisions and deals. A hamster could have approved that trade and cost them a lot less.

Sabonis and Haliburton both expire after 23-24.

Cheers to Pacer fans tho. Really made 2 great deals.

The first deal was pretty fair for what they got in return and they absolutely robbed the Kings blind.

Are we just in a 2k simulation?
