It's such a slime ball move to turn away from a paying customer to jack up the price for a product because they want to buy it.
Your correct it’s not exact but the point is the same.

I for one will never fault a man for making a fair profit.
Economics 101 on replacement inventory, don’t sell 5$ product at 8$ if it cost you 10$ to replace it with.

Yes this is a hobby for many of us but these guys are in business. Just like blowout and the distributors selling it at higher prices. As long as they sell it more power to them. If they overprice it no one will buy it. And no one buying product hasn’t been a big issue last few years.

Have odds been mentioned on regular SPs yet? Curious after the fiasco with missing in S1 jumbo.

fair profit was the original price on that the boxes were labeled at. it was fair enough to set the price in the first place, the shop owner did that, not the customer.

either the shop owner honors the price they have listed or they've become a commodity exchange.

I can say that when blowout's retail (fantastic store) has prices cheaper than the website they honor that price for as much as someone wants to buy. THEN they change the price to reflect current going rate for the next customer.

to shirk a paying customer in the final steps of a transaction to squeeze an extra $5 per box is dirty and shouldn't be treated as anything else.

No numbering is probably a reflection of the Acuna/Gleyber confusion last year. Especially when they put another version in the factory sets as a variation.

Do you think there's a chance they will be in retail?

not at my walmart (that had retail out early last year's update)

Also, 5 per case is a borderline base card. I bought two hobby boxes in January and didn't make a full set of S1

There should be almost exactly 10 of each base in a hobby case, so Vlad would be about half the print run. This obviously changes dramatically if it is not available in retail. But still, 3-4x easier than the Gleyber or Acuna last year.

yea, so obv not as common as a base, but if they are falling out 5 per case, the singles on ebay will reflect that pretty hard. At least I know to temper my excitement after pulling one

I think Topps blew this one a little.
Not SP'd enough to make higher end collectors care much, or even give much excitement for a lower level collector IMO.
A base card and all the parallels woulda been yuge!
Its gonna be all about update I guess.

opened zero
the VG listed on ebay from just baseball is from retail
he only opens retail

but the jumbo odds are the best jumbo odds for color/better autos i've seen in a few years (for s2 or s1), I went back thru all my wrappers

hobby is much more difficult than prior series and years DESPITE production decrease, as a lot of content moved to jumbo, even red autos that were once hobby exclusive
hobby odds come out to 1 auto per case on avg, vs 2-3 in S1
hobby odds on inserts tougher than S1 too, except iconic cards, which is the tough one in jumbo now
not sure why they did that
but jumbo is hands down better on odds
