Yeah it must be a good feeling. I got a taste of drama as a Spurs fan last season with Kawhi, it's a pain.

Ha ha, their schedule has not been brutal at all. They've still got GS 4 times, HOU 4 times, BOS twice and TOR away. A bunch more against the top teams.

Welcome to the West, where the schedule is like this, you have to play 10 playoff level teams 4 times.

Bronny's not in the East anymore. You can't get those games back.

I do agree they'll be fine though. 4 and 6 isn't that horrible.

Kawhi didn't play right? So that was basically the same Toronto team the Cavs swept last playoffs right, minus Derozan lol.

Feel a little better watching the Raps put a hurting on the Jazz tonight. They’re playing at a very high level even without Kawhi. Lakers finally get a break from their brutal schedule and have some winnable games coming up. Gotta win games against fringe playoff teams like the Wolves though.

Wasn't Mitchell out?

Magic needs to relax on freaking out this early. He's creating unnecessary drama. He should give the team at least 25 games playing together before he starts creating friction. The team beat the 9-1 Nuggets, and 7-3 Blazers. They clearly have the talent to beat the best in the West (- the warriors). And to be honest the West is not as stacked this year as years past. 12 of their next 13 games are winnable games. Should have waited til they had a chance to play those teams.

I'm gonna put on my tin foil hat for a second and just throw this out there - the Lakers are tanking but doing it under the guise of trying to be competitive. The Coach gets a fake tongue lashing from the President that he can take to the LA Times and say "yeah we're being tough on him because these performances are unacceptable." It's all a fabrication. This is the last year for a while where their first round pick will be of some value and they know it.

This Chandler signing reminds me of every other VET signing to a LeBron team.

Everyone says, "ooooh great signing" and then when they lose, they go "Chandler was a terrible signing, he's old and slow".

It should be a good game today with an LA victory.

Interesting theory, but I'm not buying it. The Lakers are going to the playoffs this year. Other than the Warriors and Rockets, I don't see another team in the West that is significantly better than the Lakers. Sure the Nuggets look great right now, and the Trail Blazers and Spurs are playing well. But the Lakers should have no problem securing a top four seed by the time April comes.

Magic didn't bring in LeBron to tank and get a good pick. Why would he be concerned with adding an unproven young talent when he can add veteran players next season who could potentially fit better with LeBron and who have more experience? We all saw what LeBron did last season. Sure he came up short in the end and he probably will again this year, but when you have a player like LeBron you take your shot. Another thing to consider is the fact that the young players gain experience this season, which gives them something to build on in the next few seasons. How can you teach young players to win if your objective is to tank?

One more thing - there are no certainties in sports. We saw how the Rockets struggled with Harden out. One injury to a key player can change everything. Curry and Durant haven't exactly been the most durable players. If either one of these players goes down it opens the door for several teams.

Not at all. In the past, Lebron needed scoring and shooters. Unless Tyson Chandler shrunk and can’t put a body on a big man, there’s really nothing to complain about. Nice try though! You Lakers fan you.

Lol, I don’t miss seeing drob posts but I was subjected to his quote from your post. Obvi no need to address his trolling but glad he can get comfort from his pain by trying to drag others down.

I gotta say though, i don’t know what Magic is thinking. The lakers were second to last in 3pt shooting % last year and then he got Lebron and Rondo...who aren’t outside shooters. Did he think the teams 3 pt fg% would increase because of more open looks with their passing abilities?!? Anyway, I think we’re still like 25th in 3 pt% this year and I don’t see how Tyson chandler is going to help that...tip outs? So more three pt opportunities? I just don’t see it.

I’m rooting hard but I think it’s going to be a long season for us. Lebron has taken much worse to the finish line, but it’s his 16th year and he has played in 8 straight finals. He has been a genius at “resting” during the games by slowing it down and dribbling out the shot clock...and much to the delight of the haters, taking plays off on defense. With that said though, he’s definitely lost a step out there and he even admits he’s not a jump shooter. I’ll be shocked if the lakers win a playoff series this year, but Lebron has shocked me about a million times before.

Lakers doing Laker things.

Good lord. Last leg of my bet and Lebron is letting me down, typical.

Josh Hart lighting it up.

I realize he's a few years older, but right now is it fair to say that he's a better player than Lonzo?

His toughness stands out for me.

Solid player, looks like you could rely on him in a big game.

KK is way too small to be checking Towns...

Not quite understanding the strategy there. Wolves should be exploiting that matchup every time down.

Lakers score 65 points that half and Lonzo has 1. I’m going back to my prediction that he’s the odd man out. Has a good game that makes you rethink everyone once in awhile but too many games like this where he’s nonexistent on the court

Much much better defensive intensity, unfortunately couldn’t hit a shot. Tyson doing exactly what they needed. He’ll fit right in

This team should be the 3 seed by the end of the year.

I’m a little scared of 2010 Derrick Rose here.

Hart coming up big.

Team still has a long way to go but a few pieces starting to come together.
