Season high for Jaylen Brown NT RPA. Anyone buy him up when Tatum was getting all the attention?

https://streamable.com/lbun8 Could Love have really defended this play any better? That kind of stuff and the Celtics just making contested driving layups killed the Cavs early and they could never get back in. I expect the starting lineup to be Hill/JR/LeBron/Love/Thompson. When they play with Love at the 5 they have no one who can rotate over to help on the driver and Love gets murdered on every single PnR. Thompson is a much better PnR defender and can guard Horford as the roll man.

That is sort of the problem for the Cavs though. Boston has guys that can elevate and make shots...the Cavs do not have many guys that can disrupt that. Bottom line is the Cavs will need to score a lot of points to win games...which they are very capable of.

If you watch the video I shared though, that's really an unguardable shot and Love played pretty good defense. I mean, unless you're Gobert or Embiid how much better could you contest that shot? As I go back and rewatch I don't see much help on the drive or roll man in PnR. Putting Thompson in at the 5 will definitely help that, he's a much better PnR defender and a much better defender in general. It'll be interesting to see what adjustments the Cavs make for game 2. Gotta give the Celtics and Brad Stevens some major credit, they're playing out of this world and the young guys sure aren't afraid of the moment. Part of me kinda wants the Celtics to win (for selfish reasons of course) because I don't want to watch the Cavs get crushed in the finals again. Overall this year has been miserable as a Cavs fan and I'm just ready for a rebuild.

I was surprised he did not start to be honest.

Lue needs to go, he has no clue how to use the personnel he has. His lineups suck, he never makes any in game adjustments and just stands around with a dumb look on his face the whole game.
He draws up good plays out of timeouts and that's about it.

IMO anyone throwing any money towards Brown right now is foolish. Once Kyrie and Hayward get back next year, his minutes will decrease significantly. On the flip side, if you have JBs, now is the time to sell!

No one knows what will happen. Maybe they make a trade. Too much talent is a good problem to have if you're Danny Ainge or Brad Stevens. They could keep everyone and just keep rotating fresh guys in and never let their foot off the throttle. Other teams aren't going to have a bench that can match Boston.

Imagine if they cut everyone's minutes to like 20-25 a game and just kept subbing. They've got so much talent they could do this and not skip a beat. Keep everyone fresh and playing with full energy. They'd wear you right out.

He is the starting SG next year. The team will be deep so minutes will be down but it will not be that dramatic.

JB has a legit chance to be an all-star in the next year or two. I PC him as he is my chosen player on my favorite team and I decided early last year to PC him. For me it is not an investment. That being said, I understand your take. Do an eBay search for completed sales on Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler NT RPAs.

I understand you need big stats to get a lot of hobby love. And i mean what are they going to do? There's only so many minutes, one ball, and so many shots per game. They have like 6 guys that could average 20 ppg or very close to it on a lesser talented team. But as far as winning goes though it would certainly be fun to watch.

Re: JB’s hobby upside = Jaylen Brown is great but he becomes the 5th best player on the Celtics next season after Kyrie, Horford, Hayward and Tatum. 5th best players on an Eastern Conference team usually don’t sell too well IMO.

His hobby value is above Horford and Hayward and could be above Tatum depending on who develops more. I would agree today Tatum's ceiling looks better.

If I had to pick from the Celtics I would go for Kyrie and Tatum. Hayward and Jaylen Brown are fringe all-star players imo. Tatum pretty much averaged in year 1 what Brown jumped to in year 2, let Tatum get some improvement and I could see 20 ppg next season. The only thing that could concern me with Tatum is I feel like the Celtics are going to try and make him a 4 which could be a negative if he bulks too much.
