Jokes on you, I have great kids who aren't weak-minded and thin-skinned. They understand how to ignore ignorant people and move on with their lives unlike most other people, apparently.

The fact that this has gone on for 13 pages (minus a couple for lessons on the real estate industry) is hilarious....and also disappointing.

It is nice to know that the majority of the people in this thread know how to act with some common sense and decency.

Got it.

So, even though for most kids it is completely normal for feelings to be hurt when ignorant people say hurtful things, everyone else's kids are weak-minded and thin-skinned, as you put it? Well done, man.

The point I'm trying to make is that the computer has an off button. There have been bullies since the beginning of time and will be bullies until the human race is extinct it's just a fact of life. If you're offended by something and don't attempt to distance yourself from it, that's your problem.

They will use any medium possible to harass someone internet included but you know what I do and teach my children to do, also? Turn off the computer, go outside and find something else to do.

If someone harasses or bullies you in person you ignore it and move on, if things get physical you react accordingly. You know what bullies thrive on? They feed off of negative energy and reacting to them only makes it worse. If you ignore it they will eventually go away and find someone else.

Obviously, we all understand that insulting children is wrong in every possible scenario. Nobody can seem to just ignore ignorant people and bullies. Everybody gets so offended over everything now. Words only hurt you if you let them hurt you, all I have to say about people who get offended by everything is quit crying about it and focus your attention elsewhere.

There are much better ways to occupy your time and do something productive rather than whining about some internet bullies.
Yes, you can choose to ignore the problem or you can stand up against it. There are times to fight and times to ignore and more on. It all depends on the context of the situation.

Online, if some random jerk/guy is just insulting me, 'your mom is blah blah, your kid is blah blah' that is fine, who cares. Ignore and move on like you say. But once they use my child's name (or if i that person knows me outside), that is where I draw the line and will take action.

Just because there are bullies and people do it online all the time does not make it right. We can only help/correct some behavior by calling it out or taking action. Rather then ignoring it having that bully affect other lives.

I don't have a problem if of your choice in ignoring, that's your right. But I have a right to take action if the situation is needed.

It's comforting to know where the opinion regarding this topic lies with MOST people in this thread.

Youre right.. the joke is on the rest of us if you are raising kids that arent strong enough to stand for their fellow americans. We cannot allow discriminatory jerks like this hide behind their keyboards and continue with this type of behaviour. The country is on the brink of an all out race war and the only way to snuff it out is for you me and everyone else to stand up for those being discriminated against. It works in all directions... people cannot just be people when we are all being put into categories and generalized due to the mouths that chirp the loudest and most attention getting tunes.
