Someone(s) got a steal on '18 TC #150 pink refractor PSA 10's. 2 sold for $600 via PSA's ebay store. I mean raw cards had been going for that much so how someone decided to list PSA 10's for $600....

This is true but it doesn't back up the argument that it's already baked in either. The accomplishments that Sho has already achieved have elevated us to where we are. Sure, a career-ending injury or an off-field situation could deflate things drastically. In this hobby, there's always something baked into the prices of hot players. That's why guys who haven't stepped on a major league field yet sell for more than Hall of Famers.

That's not to say that Ohtani's accomplishments to date don't justify his hype/popularity/prices, but until someone retires, there's always some level of baking going on. Look at Trout...

The largest bumps for Sho aside from 2021 have always been months after he accomplished something amazing. People do not always realize what they were seeing until the season is over and it sinks in.

I think it is difficult to determine what is baked into current Ohtani prices. But I don't think winning a 4th MVP is baked in for most his cards. High end RC autos...those seem to be going up in price exponentially and could be baked in. But sports cards are not stocks. Prices take time to move. I expect the off season to have its usually lows and then I expect spring training prices to obtain new highs and establish higher floors (especially for low and mid end RC cards).

More than anything else, Ohtani has 8 more years on his contract after this one. I expect demand to only go higher and higher over time. And once Ohtani wins his 4th MVP (and possibly another WS) I expect non baseball card collectors will also want to start collecting.

Anyone else think like me on this?

I guess if you define "good stuff" as anything that does not go down in the off season that seems very vague (and likely only high end flagship SSP's, numbered cards, and autos). I expect I will be able to find some deals on sub $1000 cards that I could not buy during the season.
