I think the Yankees need a starter because so many of the younger guys are beginning to struggle and they need a contact hitter.

I just want pitching, pitching and more pitching. Cortes and Taillon are struggling right now, Montgomery doesn't go deep into games, and at some point I expect Severino to regress and tire a bit. We just need more arms.
I wouldn’t mind getting Robertson back but I think a healthy Loaisiga brings the same to the ballpark. I don’t think they need more pitching they just need to rest Taillon and Cortes maybe let a couple of their turns in the rotation be handled by guys in the minor league. Call me crazy but I am not ready to give up on Chapman if Lemahieu catches the 2 ball he dropped Chapman would’ve had a scoreless inning. Also don’t forget Domingo German is coming off the injury list soon, see what he has to offer in a couple of starts before trying to acquire another pitcher. Remember nobody ever said winning a World Series is easy as witnessed by the drought since 2009.

I understand (and I am typically a promote from within type of person, COUGH COUGH promote FLORIAL!) but these are the pitchers we have at AAA and on the 40 man

Deivi Garcia - injured
Domingo German - rehabbing
Clarke Schmidt - healthy, but only 4 total starts on the season, so probably not really stretched out

I would love to see Schmidt get some innings if we need to rest/regroup. I'm really unsure on what German is going to offer us. But getting one more pitcher who can start/long relief would be a big get for us.

I'd be all for ignoring the offense (if they would allow Andujar/Florial to play more) or at least getting an OF. and focus on a back end reliever and a swing guy too. You can never have enough arms going into the second half of the long season

What about J.P Sears he gave them some innings last time he was up. Florial still hasn’t proved he can handle major league pitching but probably still an upgrade over Gallo. I don’t know who Andujar pissed off in the organization but he was a rookie of the year runner up and deserves playing time. Clarke Schmidt just isn’t good enough to trust with any meaningful innings I consider him not worth trying. They have a big enough lead to try some things but Boone can’t manage like he did the last 2 games in the Red Sox series, there was no urgency and it seemed like he gave those games away.

It's because his defense was garbage and didn't get much better at 3B after that. He does look better in LF, but it comes back to the age old Yankees story; they'd rather play a washed-up, overpaid, can't hit veteran instead of offend them and play a younger player.

Or admit they made a mistake in signing Gallo. Although it seems they caught lightning in a bottle signing Carpenter.

Other than a 4 pitch walk nice first inning by Cole. I didn’t know his record against the Reds was 1-8.

Hicks fouled a ball off his leg and left the game, no injury report yet.

Now let's just hope the teams (and by teams, I mean "team" - the Tigres de Quintana Roo of the Mexican League) looking to trade for Gallo just look in the box score.

Cole 113 pitch shutout 7 innings 11 strikeouts. Yea rman in the boxscore Gallo’s infield squibber will look like a line drive.
