Interesting indeed. I'm still not going back but very interesting. The surety bond on that kind of agreement has got to be pretty pricey. They must have received quite the capital injection to get into Ebay's future vault service.

I saw they are offering $20 slabs again. They need to get that down to $15. That HGA logo on the right side is absolutely unnecessary and makes it look off to me. Two logos 2 inches apart is not a good look. They have to focus group that stuff.

Edit:

I checked the couple HGA cards I have on Ebay and they automatically updated the grading company for me.

They can't grade 5000 cards a week with their current team. They must have a skeleton crew at this point. They have a 51,000 backlog according to Tyler and still haven't completed orders from September. CSG/SGC could get rid of a 51,000 backlog within two weeks. HGA can't get rid of a 51,000 card backlog in 6 months. Their output right now is absolutely pathetic and their income flow into the company is even worse. They are limiting submissions to 3500 cards, but they can't even sell out of those. The problem with that is the majority of cards they are grading right now have already been paid for. PSA's backlog is still income and charged when they finish. The cash flow into HGA right now is absolutely pathetic right now and they can't expand with the income they receive each week with 2500 card submissions. Tyler is probably grading cards himself at this point with family members for free to try to keep HGA afloat.

My 10-year-old is an excellent artist. I'll sign a permit to allow her to design your next label, Tyler.

I also have a cousin who has eagle eye vision in one eye. He would be a major upgrade over your current graders. He can actually see if a card is centered with his one good eye. You should hire him.
What say you?

Default HGA return timeline

New to the forum but I thought I'd provide a timeline for those still waiting for cards. I know that it was helpful to see others getting cards back and how long it took.

Received 9-17-21
Scanned 01-12-22
Graded 3-1-22
Printed 3-18-22
Slabbed 3-23-22
Shipped 3-24-22
Received 3.26-22

It was a long wait but they look really nice. Can't image sending anything there again given the turnaround time but now that I have them I am happy.

Just reporting timeline to be helpful. Have no idea what the current take is on HGA but their slabs are still easily the best looking on the market, no comparison really. Mine was a 40-card submission, grades were all very fair, took notes beforehand on what the grades should be given my PSA experience and rated all the cards slam dunk PSA 10, PSA 9-10, PSA 8-9, PSA 8 and lower and basically everything came back more or less as expected. The subgrades on some were a bit head scratching but the overall grades were just about nailed compared to my PSA experience.

Received 9-16-21
Scanned 01-12-22
Graded 2-28-22
Printed 3-17-22
Slabbed 3-23-22
Shipped 3-24-22
Received 3-26-22

I am disgusted by this place. It’s ran by the local trailer park. Their owner is an uneducated simp and it’s no wonder this place has become a circus. I have 4 cards left with them. They’ve been there since Sept 2021. They put a managers rush on my order and it started to move but now has been stuck on “grading” for 3 weeks. I will include the ALARMING response I got from them after I asked why they were stuck on grading….

That was a week ago today. It takes that long to track down my order?! I don’t even feel my cards are safe at this point I just want them back! It’s so sad because they had a wonderful idea and honestly their slabs are so nicely made and the custom labels are always on point. But now I’m embarrassed to own their slabs! They’ve become nothing more than a novelty slab company that cannot be taken seriously. Just glad I only have a handful of their slabs and happy I didn’t send anything of significant value.

Props to SGC! I’ve been sending my low end Pc to them in group subs that Im in charge of and the turnaround is 3 weeks MAX! They’ll be getting my business from now on if the cards aren’t worth sending to PSA/BGS.

Will we go a second straight week without Tyler giving a weekly update and how they are "catching up?" I am now at 83 business days without a scan. This company is an absolute joke. "Limiting" orders to 3500 and they can't sell out. Can't make a dent in the backlog and falling further behind even though they say they are catching up. Also taking submissions at all the cards shows they attend, so they are not limiting the submissions. Skunkbush is even only posting on the PSA threads now. HGA is done.

HGA slabs are great for PC stuff...I don't mind the wait at all. Not in it to flip. Also, feel free to wait as long, if not longer at the other companies for a higher price. We can see who the PSA slappies are and who the flippers are in the whining going on in this thread.

I 100% only collect for my PC and never sell anymore. I also have slabs of BGS/SGC/CSG/PSA and I submitted to HGA. So am I a PSA slappy? My bitching is 100% based on HGA being a $hitty company started by a known flipper. So HGA was started for flippers, by a flipper.

The truth is they are having serious money issues and are lying about their turnaround times. They said they are 40ish days behind their stated 60 days turnaround time, but they still have orders from September. I wouldn't mind if HGA was an honest company, but the crap I heard about HGA recently is a joke. There are reports about some of the people leaking information out about this company that shows what a joke they are.

I've had plenty of SGC orders back in 1-2 weeks at $30.

Even if it's PC stuff, why would you want other people in control of your possessions for an unknown period of time?

So after some emails back and forth with customer service, and messages on IG, they finally got my sub back.

Received: 9-15-21
Scanned: 1-6-22
Graded: 3-22-22
Printed: 3-23-22
Slabbed: 3-24-22
Shipping: 3-25-22

I will say, I love the slabs themselves, the grades were pretty close to what I expected.

That said, Ill never do bushiness with them again, they probably wont be around much longer anyway.

I thought it was super tacky to charge the return shipping AFTER they had my cards for 6 months on a 60 day service I paid for.

Worst case scenario w/ SGC right now: 4-5 weeks @ $23 a card. WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD ANYONE SEND TO HGA?

I wouldn't submit with them right now, but I think the answer is that people prefer the way the slab/label looks. Not saying that's a good reason, but that's it.

If nothing else, HGA's modest initial success did show that people do care about the aesthetics of the slabs. There was a pretty decent market response at the outset.

HGA screwed up by constantly expanding the number of cards customers could submit, expanding way too fast, losing sight of customer service, and making false promises on return times. The AI stuff was a black eye, but aside from a few on here, I don't think really anyone cared. If HGA had just stayed small and grown organically by focusing on creating a top-notch customer experience, it could have carved out a real niche.

Oh well.

This was why I did. Loved the label for some PC items, the slab in hand is great too IMO.

I agree. It looks and feels nice. Very substantial. My issue was all the labeling errors I experienced in my one test sub. I chalked it up to the company being under water from a resources perspective. I never subbed again after that.

They probably still charged for return shipping because they couldn't afford not to charge for return shipping.

I was focused on the AI side, but that’s because it’s of interest to me. But nice slabs, with decent grading, and a good turnaround…

Well the problem would be in the time you wait for your order, if HGA goes under, what if they just decide not to send the cards back. They could just claim they’re lost, and then you could receive money back but not the card. But if it’s for your PC, I’d rather have my PC Card Than the monetary value assigned to it
