Sixers haven’t learned the lessons from KD and AD. Hope it turns out differently for them.

Even the most mild tears are 4-6 weeks recovery time. There’s no speeding that up to a week.

So much for shutting him down the rest of the Playoffs.

We'll see if it works out for him better than it did Harden.
I’m not crazy about the move, but whatever. I’d rather they sit him as long as possible for this series. If he’s able to play at or close to full strength, the Hawks have zero chance in this series.

That’s what I had heard on local sports radio. It’s not going to heal or even improve in any short enough period of time, so you play through it and simply risk further injury. I can see the risk/reward being more worth it in the ECF or Finals, but the Hawks seem like a manageable enough task without needing Embiid in game 1, at least. Playing him this early just increases the number of opportunities for more serious injury.

Pat Bev played through a minor meniscus tear in the playoffs, so have other players including big men. The doctors I heard/read said if it is truly minor, it depends more on any pain/swelling than anything else.

We'll see how much he actually plays today. I'd hold him out.

As you saw with Durant, the biggest problem with these kinds of injuries is altered mechanics and the risk of injury to other tendons and joints.

It’s an interesting choice to let somebody like Embiid play through it.

Well I'm not a doctor and I would imagine they have great doctors to watch and evaluate his injuries so I'm taking their word that it's truly not much at all.

3s…

When it’s Young instead of Westbrook, it forces the defense to do something else

Nice first quarter for the Hawks. But I’m sure the 2nd or 3rd quarter cool Off is coming.

Atlanta has some many weapons. I’m envious.

And we're missing our best defender and probably third best overall player in hunter.

Oh, I know. That’s my boy. Hope that knee holds up long term. Would be a shame for such a great kid.

Okongwu is making big strides. Game 5 was probably the best game of his young career.

I'm just happy that they aren't just saying to hell with his future and throwing him out there. That has to be tempting and I'm sure he wants to play.

Can’t believe the Hawks were able to fleece the Clippers for Lou Will.
