Wouldn't the lazy vote for one of their own?
Trump is the laziest President in memory.
He even drives his golf cart on the greens.

Is that the point you are trying to make? Be careful now, don't pigeonhole yourself accidentally!
My contention is that the day should be a national holiday as it would give voters in ALL 50 STATES, and especially in congested cities across the U.S. equal opportunity to make it to the polls and potentially wait in long lines during Covid.

There's no point in debating the blatant misinformation and false narratives pushed by Trump. You either see it, or you don't care.

Here's an article on Texas if you have any interest in understanding voting demographics.

It seems like most voters have made their decision on who they are voting for. Can we just do the election tomorrow and get it over with?

Look around you. Are you confident that people in this country will recognize the importance of a national holiday to vote in a presidential election, or will they use the day for something they'd rather do instead? What kind of confidence intervals do you think the last five months of American behavior have revealed?
I think a National Holiday for voting should be done. I think it’s necessary to reignite the national pride and importance in voting. Do I think it would be highly effective, probably not drastically so short term, but I think it would be a meaningful step in a positive direction. You are not going to turn around apathy to politics overnight, but a national holiday for voting will have no negative effect and coupled with other meaningful steps like funneling more money into upgrading and maintaining the voting system and voting access could do a world of good in the long term.

In this thread, generally yes.

I actually don't think the above bolded was harsh. It was a matter of fact statement presenting an article that you could either read or choose to ignore.
You chose to ignore it.

He assumes that everyone in this thread is a white racist. Also, that he's smarter than everyone (by a lot).

One's funny. The other.. very sad.

Yes.
He is superior.
We are inferior

When that doesn’t work, he’s a mob victim.

If you guys can name one "liberal/leftist" poster on this thread who you respect and whose perspective you value, I'll reconsider my stance.

I think Geech said he was voting for Trump, but yes he is a great moderate representative for this thread

Doesn't necessarily change someone's overall outlook/politics, though.

As stated earlier in this thread (and the COVID one I believe).

Goodbye theaters.

I was watching Bourne the other day, and read this as Franka Potente.

I need something to eat.

You assume we are only focused on someone’s affiliation like you are.

I think a voting holiday would be a great idea.

Make it on a day not piggybacked on a holiday.

And yes, I live in a state that does not allow time off to vote.
