My contention is that the day should be a national holiday as it would give voters in ALL 50 STATES, and especially in congested cities across the U.S. equal opportunity to make it to the polls and potentially wait in long lines during Covid.

There's no point in debating the blatant misinformation and false narratives pushed by Trump. You either see it, or you don't care.

Look around you. Are you confident that people in this country will recognize the importance of a national holiday to vote in a presidential election, or will they use the day for something they'd rather do instead? I think a National Holiday for voting should be done. I think it’s necessary to reignite the national pride and importance in voting. Do I think it would be highly effective, probably not drastically so short term, but I think it would be a meaningful step in a positive direction. You are not going to turn around apathy to politics overnight, but a national holiday for voting will have no negative effect and coupled with other meaningful steps like funneling more money into upgrading and maintaining the voting system and voting access could do a world of good in the long term.
