It's not that they are buying 20+ sets. If they are doing it fair and square buy as much as you want. No manual user can go from the start of the auction with nothing in any cart and get 20+ orders in give or take 2 minutes. They may have lasted even less time than that not sure.

Funny story is how they changed their checkout process. It used to say down to the second for years when your order was. So you could always tell what was being botted that way if they really did care. Especially when you're talking about a 1/1 card they could easily see what's happening. There have been Instant cards that sell in 1-5 seconds. With the exception of the short time there was a glitch many years ago, you can't checkout something anywhere remotely close to that fast. Those people should have the orders canceled and be banned but Panini doesn't care. Now it just says what minute you ordered. No idea why they got rid of the exact second on orders or if its only available on their end.

Bots have been almost no issue for auctions. It's another thing on popular NFT packs, in demand Instant cards, and product at a guaranteed home run set price.

I know whats best for everyone else. People should come to me and let me decide how they spend their money. I'm naïve enough to think that having my nose in everyone else's business will change the prices of sports card boxes. If only everyone would listen to me we could get hobby boxes of Prizm football for $75.

I will say guys:
I've been buying the Prizm NFL 2024 since it dropped 01/09/25 ... every day max from Target and Walmart, some more boxes and and packs from ebay or big shops like CS and BOC and Dicks, etc. I will probably save em for 5+ years and re-evaluate.

Personally, I'm buying fat packs and cello boxes (box of 12 fat packs) for my 2024 Prizm (and a bit of Mosaic fat packs/cello). Few reasons for that:
1) Waaay better fat pack value then blaster or retail box or mega (way more prizms and more silver prizms for the $). 2024 NFL prizm fat pack is 1 silver prizm, 1 green prizm, 3 red white blue prizm, 1 green, 2 base rookies 7 base cards. Chance for base auto and other case hit type stuff.
2) No redemptions in fat packs... those expire, and Panini might get sketch on redemptions anyways as they're losing the NFL license.
3) Low value. This is good in that they'll be affordable to people, even if value do what 2017 football wax packs did. They're also not worth scanning if pack scanning takes off. I wasn't going to buy $3 boxes Prizm FOTL or $2k Hobby boxes with CT scanning being a legit threat to the value of holding unopened wax.

I think this 2024 player/QB class is going to be what the 2021 (TLaw, Fields, ZWilson, Mac, Lance, Mills, etc) was hyped up to be. This class from 2024 is making the NFL fun again... the QB talent was really bad on many teams before this. It made those teams almost uncompetitive. And sure, not all 2024 guys will pan out, but many already look solid.... or are very solid.

It'll be interesting to see how the class of 2024 rooks. I am a guy who watches NFL more than I watch card value (but I know QBs are kings of card values!).
This class is legit. It's loaded. Guys like McCarthy and Rattler and Penix haven't even shown much of anything yet:

Bo Nix
Michael Penix
Spencer Rattler
Marvin Harrison Jr, Nabers, Brian Thomas Jr

...Spoiler (to nobody): Prizm 2024 is being overprinted fairly big. Of course Panini hits the money machine big while they still can. That should surprise nobody. It sucks to buy everyday when the products should be sold out... but they're not.

So: what wins out? Good 2024 players... or Panini overprint greed? I hope it's the former

The only reason the Megas are still sitting on Target.com is because of the strict order limits. They are putting more and more online than they are in the stores lately and by limiting ppl to 3 boxes a day it just takes awhile longer for them to run out. I am doing the same thing you are and I enjoy hoarding popular wax, so without the order limits I would’ve just kept buying until I ended up with 4-500 boxes. I’m sure I’m not the only person who would’ve done this but I also think without the limits I wouldn’t have gotten to that number before they sold out.

I was going to correct some of your details, but I'll just say good luck and I hope that 2024 turns out better than 2021! I think it will, but 2021 looked promising at the start as well. Also, I'd much rather have 3 Mega than 1 Cello box, it seems you may be a bit new judging from your join date so I'd encourage you to keep doing your research on this stuff and best of luck!

I don't get that logic. Maybe I'm missing something.

Mega box prizm = 5 pink prizm, 3 silver prizm, 10 RCs, 42 cards (so three mega = 15 pink, 9 silver, 30 RCs, 126 cards total)

Cello box = 36 red white blue prizm, 12 silver prizm, 12 green prizm, 24 RCs, 180 total cards

Is there something I'm missing? Both are just retail... have ultra low chance of autos or other case hit type stuff. The silvers are main value.

...I do think mega box and cello for Prizm football are more comparable some years... but 2024 mega box pink prizms are terrible. Red white blue is fairly good and a color match for many NFL teams. Jmo.

Cello are not a good value in box form. Check Mega vs Cello prices for say 2020 Prizm. 3 Megas will fetch more than a Cello.

The breakdowns are probably pretty similar if you were to bust. I know I'm getting 1 RC Silver and 1 RC Mega exclusive (Pink or Green Pulsar and whatever the "Hobby" Mega color is this year). The Silvers in Cello may not run accordingly. How many RC Silvers are you pulling from your Cello box? You'd need to pull at least 3 to be even with the Megas. You also have much higher auto hit rate in Mega (I'm not even sure you can pull autos in the Cello packs, if so I believe they would be Silvers, check the packs and LMK on this one, I threw away my wrappers.)

TL;DR if you plan on selling in box form you shouldn't be buying Cello, busting they have similar yields and I'd still prefer Megas.

Dealers are paying $5k a box for the Premium sets. At $5k a box what is that 385-388 boxes that are losers and 12-15 you come out ahead? If you want to account for the cost they will break them at overall probably 8 or so boxes you come out ahead on. 390ish losers.

FYI there is a Jayden /249 listed for $750 or best offer on ebay right now. The Jayden /400 is worth less than 15% of what sets are selling for. I realize there are stupid people out there but this may be another level unless box prices immediately drop 50%+ once the Jayden 1/1 is pulled.

For sure. Makes sense... I plan to just sell them as just 2024 prizm fat packs in 5+ years. They're about $15-18/ea now... hopefully $100 or more then if a handful of the rookies pan out well.

I get what you're saying in general that mega from years past are more popular than fat/cello... but the pink prizms are just uggo.

Another thing to note, the Value Packs are more likely to have condition issues due to the nature of packing/shipping. Not as big a problem when purchased in box form, but another thing to consider, especially if you plan on selling them by the pack. I'm much less likely to purchase Value packs of any product than the boxed version as condition is important to me. I also forgot to mention the BIG retail chase cards (Red/Blue/Red Checker/Press Proof) aren't available in the Value packs, but are available in the Megas and Blasters, really damaging the ceiling for Cellos. You at least want a shot, however unlikely it is to actually hit. If the Cellos changed this year LMK, like I said I threw away the wrapper, maybe you could check for me just to confirm.
