They know 1975 Topps is popular. I can’t wait to see how overpriced preorder is tomorrow.

They would be stupid to raise the price on Heritage. I love the product, and the collectors that love it will always love it. But we all know price is pushed by breakers in todays market. This isn't a breakers product. They won't be able to push this in bulk to Backyard Breakers. They need us regular people to buy it.

Topps is a business, they will charge whatever they want and it will sell. "Regular people" don't throw in the towel no matter how much people say they will boycott price hikes.

I agree but If cases come out today at $1200 I wouldn't be surprised. People will still buy them and the preorder will still "sell out" all while forgetting that it will be $1000 in a month and $700 in 6 months.

With the hobby as hot as it is, why would Fanatics not raise prices? Especially considering how delayed the 2024 releases are. They have the upper hand here.

No matter how much people here like to lump everything together, products and target audience are not equal. They cannot charge anything they want and still sell out. You think they could charge $1,500 for a case of Heritage and sell thousands of cases? That just isn't true. There is a small premium for this type of product that would be accepted by the masses, otherwise it would be skipped by most. Granted, your statement may be true for something like Bowman Draft, but not this. The breakers will get their cases and open some, but it will not be in mass, and there will not be reorders by those buyers.

I don't think there is any chance they charge $1,200 unless they are adding tons of value that they will announce when it goes live. Most likely $1k if I were to guess. $1,100 would be high, $900 would be "cheap". If they price it at $1,200 or higher they will only sell a small faction of what they want to sell. They can change the case count to something like 4 to make it appear as if it sold out, but I know Heritage. It will not move in mass at that price (unless the product changes this year).

Agreed,...100%! While Heritage is obviously a "popular release", in the world of modern day baseball/sports cards, still; it is VERY NICHE!! Hence, the reason we see the prices drop (literally!) by 50%+ ....less than 6 months or so, after release,...year-in & year-out. Craptastics cannot just arbitrarily/continuously RAISE THE PRICE on a product like Heritage...."just, because". Fiscally-speaking, it would be a proverbial DEATH BLOW as it pertains to Heritage. Simply put; as popular as Heritage is, the core klector (keyword: collector!!) would just wait until the Fall of each respective release-year,...and scoop it up/build our sets, then! Craptastics can minimally/slightly raise the price on Heritage, every year, and...."get away with it". I just think they'd have a very difficult time in [attempting to] gouge us on the pricing, as it's common-knowledge; this is a KLECTORS product, and not,...a D-GEN product.

I don't think they'll be $1200 either, but lets not forget 2022 preorders at the big places were 1100-1200 and Topps did release single boxes at $99. It wouldn't be unprecedented.

In 2018 - Ohtani mania was upon us and by the time it actually released it was $1,500/case. The pre-order price started in the $1,200 range and slowly worked up to that on release day. 2019 came out higher than normal (I think in the $1,300 range). While it did work it's way down to $1,000 last year, there is precedent for Topps/Fanatics to release at a stupid price point if they feel there is momentum to capitalize on. With 1975 being so popular, a higher price tag than last year might be in the cards, no pun intended.

That won't be released until a couple of days before release, i.e. early April.

So collectors will have no idea whether or not Ohtani or YY will be in the product until then.

Prime candidates to be actual short prints like Volpe and Walker were last year

The flagship pre-order was like this. Someone on Twitter managed to find and post a link that worked before the website itself had a page you could find through regular navigation.

Topps did this last time just a week or so ago when they announced a product drop with date and time.

its probably some part of some planned data/price fishing plan so they can gauge the interest of a product by announcing a time and date and then seeing how many clicks to their site....and hence how popular the product is...then they analyze that and figure out high to jack up the price and screw their collectors

I assume you're talking about Big League? The thing is, they actually had the product available for pre-order, so I'm not really sure what your point is.

You give them more credit that they have earned for craftiness.
