Pretty sure they will snag a base as well. But I really didn't mean high end collectors when I said big collectors I meant collectors that have a lot of one person.

Yeah, that little addition of the RC logo compared to the regular release will definitely add a premium 💥.

Topps putting the RC on Haaland is such a dumb thing to do. It devalues all their previous releases. I could see Fati since it’s his first mass release Topps card. Topps is trying to change the soccer game in a hurry. Will be interesting to see if it works.

Sapphire in baseball is such a premium product and a big chase for collectors. I’m sure Topps would like to see the same for this product in soccer. First release and by also adding the RC logo will make his card a go to for collectors.

Still like Haaland's Topps Chrome Bundesliga (especially the refractor). Shorter print run and when I think of his go to shiny rookies....this is what always comes to my mind first.

I can agree with that. Really just comparing UCL.
I’m sure next year we will see a Sapphire Bundesliga Chrome release.....

I'm curious to see who else has the logo (not that in changes much in my own personal view but I know it matters to some) and figuring out the logic they have used. If they are are only using Topps hobby cards as the benchmark (so no MA or stickers, but include NOW and Living) we could see someone like Vinicius Jr get the logo. An interesting one is De Ligt as he was in Topps Crystal in 18/19 and whether or not he gets the logo solely depends on their view of that. Likewise Alphonso Davies will depend on how they view 2018 Topps MLS.

I really don't understand these people who are clamoring for these trashy Sapphire cards. They are so damn ugly and no autos in there and $400+ a box? Crazy.

I totally sympathize your view on Sapphire. In fact, if you happen to own any boxes or singles that you would like to get rid of I will pay you fair price to take them away from you because I care. Whoever wants to sell those boxes or these ugly Sapphire Fatis or Haalands please PM me.

Not sure about this. I feel like Topps is more interested in drawing in cross-over collectors with this release than appealing to soccer collectors. Dortmund fans have their Haalands in Transcendent and Bundi chrome, and general soccer collectors have his stickers, Finest, Chrome and Museum. Similarly, Fati has megacracks, Obsisian, Pitch Kings, and Chrome already for soccer collectors.

By releasing a product familiar to baseball collectors to a club of baseball collectors this really just seems like a way for Topps to entice more collectors in the market. Cards do like nice and may sell for a premium for some, and certainly no problem with expanding the market, but I am not convinced that this release will get the traction with soccer collectors that many seem to suspect it will.

I might be in the minority on this but I'd rather they left the card the same as the base, no logo. The sapphire would have been enough in my opinion. That said, I'm sure it might add some value. Weird decision on their part though.

As boxes creep closer and closer to 500 on eBay, I'm getting more nervous about getting my eBay pre-orders. Haha. I'm sure some will come but everyone here knows how people get over a few hundred dollars.

Loving the RC addition! Can't wait to rip some of this stuff. Top RC of each for me personally but to each their own. Just glad we got multiple RC releases of the top 2 rookies in 19/20 and Topps got it right imo.

Is the use of the RC logo on his big time hyped release...the perfect RC logo intro for soccer collectors? Get them use to it! I can see Topps coming w/ the RC logo moving forward.

Topps doesn't care about devaluing previous releases, because they already sold them. It's all about creating future value with this one. This is the hype release, dropped without warning to their predominantly baseball-focused membership club. I expect their prices and print runs on new product to be higher going forward. Perhaps much higher.

I believe this RC logo will increase the demand in the Base Blue Sapphire rookies, but I honestly do not believe it'll effect the demand of the Base UCL Chrome. We all know Bundesliga will be the premier rookie for Haaland, but the availability of both Bundesliga and Sapphire is already limited. I believe the Base UCL will be more readily available for everyone and will still hold value. Do not see a change in UCL Chrome value but Sapphire will see a big uptick.
