Update: Brent just told me the mini insert odds are all jacked. Some are way tougher and some are way easier. He has dozens of inserts from some sets, and 1 or 2 of others. So this could be interesting...
As far as the odds, 1:50 packs may actually be normal. They are itemized on the odds this year instead of simply stating 1:5 packs total. So the odds do make sense now, but Brent's collation is not making any sense. Last edited by auctionjmm; 07-17-2018 at 02:53 PM. |

Wood 1:2709 would be 3292 cases. Seems conservative so can't be right

450 total Metal Mini 1:2124 = 3318 cases so ~3300 must be in the ballpark

Wasn't bad info. I was just looking at other markers. Some of these odds are +50%, some +30%, some +20% and some +10%. I should have been more thorough and checked other sets. This has to mean that some stuff was moved to retail, or the serial numbering is different.

Hmm. Ok so take something like Bazooka Backs and Mini NNO. Both of those are up 50% in hobby. When I saw those odds I assumed everything behind it was the same. I admittedly wasn't that invested in calculating everything else when I first saw the odds. Now that I'm looking down the list, hobby odds are anywhere from 10-50% up so things are jacked for sure. I don't know what is what.

Another odd example: Red Ink autos up 26% even though the subject list is only down 3 names. I trust the 10% or so that everyone is coming up with based on the 1/1's but there is not much consistency in everything else.
EDIT: 1/1 Glossy is up 50% too. This is driving me nuts! Last edited by auctionjmm; 07-17-2018 at 03:47 PM. |

Yep, so it appears that the hobby run is about 3,300 cases, but retail is like a billion cases. Meaning, hobby is watered down in several areas, and retail is utterly worthless.

Alot of good points here. I'll concede that hobby production is much smaller than I thought, but I'm not exactly jumping for joy either with so much content being moved into retail. The overall value of a hobby case still takes a significant hit when you factor in the retail component.

Sounds like there was a good bit of fake news going around about the huge increases.
