Agreed and even when he does manage to hold on for the save most of the time it’s still heart attack city.

I personally think he has a contract with heart doctors and heart medicine manufacturers.

What’s scary is if they could only go 3-3 against the White Sox and Tigers what are we to expect in the next series against Cleveland starting tomorrow. At least those games are at home.

Players are hitting .348 vs Holme's sinker so naturally he throws that pitch the most.

Be calm. It's not a weak division anymore or so I've been told.

Would be nice to see the Yankees have a great series and sweep them, but with Boone managing that won’t happen as he will give away at least one game.

Yes the players sucked last night and even though they only scored 1 run on a wild pitch they still had a chance to steal that game. That’s what I mean when I say Boone gives away games. As JRX pointed out Holmes has blown 4 of his last 9 saves anyway. If ever there was a time to try somebody else at closer last night was the opportunity. What compounded the blown save by Holmes is they retook the lead in the 10th only to have Boone bring in their other reliever who has been a horror show since coming to the Yankees. Mark Leiter jr. Should suffer the same fate as De Los Santos but that’s who Cashman chose to get at the trade deadline so basically instead of fixing a problem he made it worse.

One last thing, I think Boone is using his relievers out of sequence. If he went with Kahnle first and he still had his scoreless inning in the 7th he could’ve used Weaver for the 8th and 9th inning as he only threw 12 pitches and usually when he is having a good night they can get more than one inning out of him. On the dark side Leiter jr. only took 6 pitches to lose last night’s game so he will be available for tomorrow’s game.

I have no idea what the hell happened to Leiter. Its like the Yankees get a bullpen guy and zap his ability to pitch.

Too bad Yankees played like garbage for six weeks or they would have a nice lead and could experiment with room for error. The team with their ducks in a row will win this thing, right now it isn't the Yankees.
Reminds me so much of Francsico Rodriguez (K-Rod) for the Angels back when they were relevant. Electric and lights out, or an absolute train wreck.

If fangraphs is to be believed, only 17 pitchers have had individual seasons with 10 or more blown saves. Interestingly, Clase had 12 last year. The record is 12 btw, holmes should beat that in a bout a week.

Astros Potential Rotation options
Framber Valdez, Yusei Kikuchi, Justin Verlander, Ronel Blanco, Hunter Brown, Spencer Arrighetti

Bullpen
Josh Hader, Bryan Abreu, Taylor Scott, not super deep but strong backend

All they have to do is get in again. Pitching wins in the postseason

Yankees Rotation
Gerrit Cole, Marcus Stroman, Luis Gil (probably not due to IP), Carlos Rodon, Nestor Cortes

Bullpen

Absolutely no one we can trust. I don't trust Kahnle or Weaver to close games out consistently. It's a complete mess

Astros also have a better lineup. We have Soto, Judge, pray someone else can do something.

Two trades for relievers. Both worthless. Cashman certainly doesn't have the magic anymore.

Apparently that's one more player than the Royals, but they're probably going to make the playoffs.

Yep ended the show with it but they still put on a pretty good show. Saw one of my wife’s Christian darlings on Saturday night in Lauren Daigle told me wife it’s the last time I go to one of these religious concerts. First of all it was over 90 degrees for an outdoor concert there was one opening band that started at 7 and played till 7.30. Here comes my main rant, I didn’t think they would do their sponsor a child from a less fortunate country but they did and that took up another 40 minutes. It took Lauren Daigle forever to come out and we listened to her for about 45 minutes and left. Very unprofessional in that she didn’t even apologize for coming on late. I told my wife these rock bands are actually more conscious of their fans than these religious bands. Told my wife she would have to go with her friends to those shows from now on as that was my last. Rant Over. Thanks for listening.

I'm getting ready for a walk fest this coming series. Cleveland is in the race, so I don't see them pitching to Judge.

Never had any magic, made a career off of living on that dynasty team that was actually built by Bob Watson and Gene Michael. And the 2009 team that won the World Series was because George spent like a drunken sailor and even they couldn’t blow it that year.

maybe we should have the relievers start the 1st-4th innings

and then put the normal starting pitcher in the 4th or 5th inning

Yep unless they are winning or losing by a lot I don’t see him being pitched to.

I'm not talking about that. Cashman used to have a knack for trading for players that would often times excel the rest of the season. This trade deadline had to be his worst ever.

True he hasn’t really made any good acquisitions lately.
