It's your responsibility to get the card to the buyer. If you had sent it priority and it showed that you would lose. That's the way it is and has been for years.

If you had just refunded ebay would not be refunding you anything. You would have to go through the pip. Since you let ebay force it then it got marked delivered you can appeal. The system worked as it supposed to

If it's not marked delivered, left at po or something like that ebay will rule in buyer's favor 100% of the time. Ebay sides with buyer nearly every time so does PayPal Amazon or any other site. Credit cards pretty much force those policies.

Honestly on an ese item as soon as buyer opens a claim I would refund and file a PIP claim. Ese items are typically not worth the hassle. Unless buyer was a jersey about it I would not bl9ck or anything here but go on with life

Does ebay allow a buyer to choose standard shipping for cards above $20 if multiple shipping options are offered? We use a bulk listing tool with 1 shipping preset for all of our listings. Would we have to create 2 different sets of listings for cards over/ under $20 with ESE?

Got my first ESE returned with a $.40 postage due notice on it. Sticker on it says it was unclaimed, hence the RTS.

Looks like it was the destination PO that flagged it as missing the non-machinable postage. I know my envelopes meet the USPS standards for machinable so it's probably just bad luck.

Funny enough it was actually marked as Delivered in the tracking and the buyer left me positive feedback about a month ago. Guess I'll reach out to verify his address and see if he wants me to toss it back in the mail.

Decided to try ESE shipping. Sold 1 card and tracking never updated. Buyer just filed a claim and I refunded. So I'm SOL?

Thanks. I sold it on 1/16 so it appears I need to wait 30 days from estimated delivery date, then I can file? It's not giving me that option yet. So probably in a week or so.

It's 15 days from when you ship it.

Here is the website - https://www.pip-claim.com/PIPClaim/e...reateeBayClaim

Thank you for your response. I charge .99 shipping and the label was .88 for 2oz. Not sure if as a buyer that too big of a deal (if the seller made .11 cents profit on shipping!)

If you have your shipping listed as ESE with $0.99 in your listing, the buyer should have no problems as they elected to pay that amount for the specified method of shipping.

The only time a buyer should have an issue is if you have (for example) USPS Ground Advantage with $4.99, but you send $0.88 ESE.

Got it! Thank you so much. Yes, it’s listed in the shipping. I only ship ESE and only charge .99 cents (I don’t ship or charge for ground advantage). I just wasn’t sure how picky buyers are as this is my first sale in a long time using ESE.

I also agree there should be a way to hide the amount on ESE like you can with the Ground Advantage labels.

Buyers can still be picky. You can always get unlucky with a PITA buyer, but they shouldn't be upset if you have it listed like you mention.

If they have an issue they deserve to be blocked. Ebay will typically remove feedback in cases where buyers complain about shipping costs. Most buyers know it's shipping and HANDLING. You are allowed to charge for costs associated with shipping. Some buyers are just nit pickers they go out of their way looking for things to complain about

Of course you'll have a buyer every now and then that just wants to complain, but most buyers accept that there are other costs besides the postage for shipping.

It costs something to print the label and your envelopes are not free. Plus going to the PO takes some fuel or bus fare. Depending on what you're using, you might even be losing a small amount. 99 cents is very fair, even if you do make a nickel on handling. I doubt anyone would bark but bound to be one jabroni out there. I wish more sellers were comfortable using ESE as I would load up on cheap cards. COMC gets most of those dollars for now.

I had a buyer once complain on ESE I charged 1.00 and paid 83 cents. He actually expected a .17 cent refund. There was another someone posted about who left a neg over 30 cents but at the same time that buyer was charging 1.50 to ship ese.

So they are out there but they are thankfully rare.

Is there anything more annoying than an impatient ESE buyer? Guy complaining that his card hasn't had a scan in 8 days, accusing me of not shipping it, then it finally gets a scan and he thinks I just mailed it after he complained.

There are so many buyers who don't understand how ESE tracking works.

I had one message me about tracking status two different days. Thankfully, the Minneapolis post 400 miles away finally scanned it and he went silent.

I've noticed some sellers preemptively mention in the listing that the ESE can take longer and with less tracking than other services. I have not gone that far yet.

I do like the overall program and have sold close to 300 cards using it that would have otherwise ended up at COMC without it.

Give it 3 days and if it doesnt move by then do the refund before it can be escalated. then file the PIP. Give it a chance to be delivered.

Refund and file for tge pip refund. I would have told him to file a not received claim as soon as his first message. Him opening a claim is what he should do,since he has to protect himself. He is 100% right in that regard. From your posts he bought the card around the 15th it did not get any scan for 8 days. If it has not shown any movement in that time then I would agree with buyer it's lost. Just because it's in transit does not remove your responsibility in getting the card to buyer

Oh I'm definitely gonna make the impatient idiot sweat it for 2 more days. That's what he gets for being an ass about it.
