Recent Soto Mailday:

Was watching this one on Ebay for what feels like forever. Topps first started inserting the milestone tributes game-used baseball relics /10 in 2014, I believe, but in 2016 kicked things up a notch with a 1/1 autographed version. Incredibly cool to have the autographed swatch of baseball in the card, brings me back to the early 2000s and the iconic Sweet Spot sets.

I believe the seller listed it for $3000+ originally several months ago. I had considered putting in offers but could never really pull the trigger. Eventually they started dropping the price by about $50 every few days. When the listing got close to $1k in mid August I was ready to roll but unfortunately an unexpected hot tub repair zapped my card budget for the month and I had mentally let the card go. When the calendar flipped September though and the listing was still up I was ready to roll. Wasn't about to let this beauty get away.

Now currently my second favorite Soto card in my collection:

2022 Topps Tribute Milestone Relics Jumbo Black 1/1 MR-JS

Swatch of ball from the 2019 NLCS game 3 against the St. Louis Cardinals in DC:
Jose Martinez singles on a fly ball to left fielder Juan Soto. Marcell Ozuna to 2nd. Two-Seam Fastball - Pitch Number: 7, Pitch Speed: 95.2 MPH, Balls 2 Strikes 2. Hit Distance: 233.01 ft, Hit Launch Speed: 70.49 MPH, Hit Launch Angle: 25.9.

Our boy went 0-3, 1R, 1BB in the game as the Nats won 8-1. Here is a clip of the game from which the ball was used (and held!) by Juanny
