School principles can earn upwards of $235,000. I spoke to a teacher about this, she told me they work longer hours and work summers too. I replied back with most jobs in the private sector have long hours and require work in summertime too.

Compared to being a property manager that deals with crazy hours and just crazy things in general.... Hands down take the teaching job (NYC/Long Island). Also, if you are scared about kids and germs, you should see how some people leave their apartments....

I don't know in what area you live,but the only teachers in mine work in select charter schools. Public school teachers make far less than that, work more than 8 hr. days and during summer break take classes just to do their jobs better. Poor you and your apartments. How about you have to deal with kids and parents that have no interest in being part of the social norm.

I said in my post its NYC and Long Island. And these are public school teachers making great income with great benefits. Guaranteed pay. It really is a great job.

You do realize schools have multiple classrooms, so in common areas and during potential class changes etc., your dealing with more than 20-30 individuals.

And the number of people potentially effected would be far greater then 20-30 thousand, I'm sure the total number of school children and faculty in the State of Florida FAR exceed the RNC projections.

There is no way my wife and I will be able to both work full time and monitor 2 kids for 6 hours a day each on Zoom.

This is going to be an unmitigated disaster. Just using google classrooms and assignment dumps there was such a technology barrier for my kids. K-6th grade kids are not competent enough to learn on a computer, especially with teachers with zero background in teaching using technology.

That doesn’t equate to typing out in full sentences, using photo editing software and saving/uploading files.

This is a huge gap between the technology most elementary aged kids know and what is required for distance learning.

There is not a single parent or teacher I know or have talked to that hasn’t had this issue. But go on...

I hope enough kids enroll in cyber school that the school districts are forced to open or close for good. And it’s not teachers that are coming up with these plans, it’s school birds and administration. I have 4 neighbors that teach at 4 different districts and my brother teaches at a 5th. None of them have been involved at all in determining how they are going to open. They’ve all been told. Even they think this is going to be a disaster.

Do you realize my response was referring to The Heel's post comparing a school setting versus the Republican National Convention?
I'm pretty sure the people attending the convention also have interactions with multiple people involved with their daily lives who could be potentially effected so I don't understand your point.
Of course so do the people at the Walmarts, Targets, and every other store/business that I'm betting you frequent.
Are some people more important than others?
I'd love to see all of you folks so scared of the virus that pick and choose who's lives are more important than others just stop shopping and doing the things we all know you do on a daily basis.
