He will remember that HBP...haven't seen him get mad too often...but it's starting to boil.

He was laughing at first base after getting hit. I'm sure he was just trying to keep things light but he should be out for blood the second half of the series.

What was frustrating for me is that there were five Ks for the game and four were his. Momma said there'll be days like this, I guess.

My biggest concern is whether his body felt different after the pitching debut night before. Obviously way too small of a sample size but he swung through some very hittable fastballs his last at-bat with Morejon, who he usually hits well. Something to monitor. And yes, not worried.

Again Ohtani is doing something that has never been done before. He is pitching in the show (instead of spring training or rehab games) and hitting (still at an MVP level for the year). Could this affect his hitting...certainly could. Could his hitting stats suffer...maybe. The payoff though is Ohtani being fully ready to be a two way player in the playoffs and making history!!!

Pretty sure he was pretty amped out to get back on the mound. So there might have been some recovery of the legs he will have to get use to each day after being on the mound. Getting hit where he got hit last night may slow him down a bit too but he will get back into the swing of things soon.

Yeah, like Judge has had several bad nights in a row now. Despite that, his OPS is still above 1.200 which is ridiculous.

PSA 9 of his 2018 Bowman Auto going over 10-11K now

PSA 9 of 2018 Bowman Chrome /499 for over 4K

PSA 10 of Bowman Chrome Base over 1.2K in some sales, many over 1k

I think the Ohtani bull market has a long way to go! Him pitching again and reminding everyone he is still a unicorn. If he adds a few more MVPs or WS rings his cards are going past the moon.

I probably have like 300 to 400+ Ohtani RC cards I would need to send to PSA for all my medium and high end Ohtani RC cards and low end cards that would be a 9 or better. Just hanging tight for now and waiting for an incredible bulk special.

i dont think there will be any "great bulk deals" coming for Ohtani

i would continue to widdle out the better cards and sub some at a time to work up a steady flow of returns.

The longer you wait for PSA to become more reasonable, the more frustrated you will be. TCG volume is not declining any time soon and their services (card handling, consistency, processes) have degraded significantly. Their bulk prices are more likely to increase rather than go down or be subject of a special. Sho cards are also being pop protected now with rookie year being graded harder. The obvious solution seems like waiting, but when? A year, a few years? It's going to be a while and will not be cheaper or easier to grade.

I would recommend sending through Josh's (PCSportcards) to get a better TAT and $1 cheaper per card ($19 vs current bulk of $20 with paid membership).

i would look at it this way..... you have stated that you are pretty much down to trying to find "steals" at this point or you are not picking anything up

so take ~20 cards and submit them (with Josh, let them handle the work).
Then repeat the process the next month etc until you are out of stuff to submit

spacing them out does a few things..... lowers the amount you have to spent at
one time.... lowers risk of "something happening"..... gives you something to
look forward to when they start returning .... keeps you involved in the hobby

I agree wholeheartedly with not waiting any longer than necessary to grade. Between the strong demand at PSA and rising prices of his raw singles, getting high grades at reasonable submission prices will not get easier moving forward IMO.
