Velo and stuff are there. The command and trust in his stuff is going to take a while. Slow ramp was the right call.

Probably a higher pitch count than they wanted but his stuff looked FILTHY and the velo was there. No real hard contact either. For a first start back from TJ the Dodgers have got to be thrilled.

His pitch placement looked good, almost too good maybe.
Hope he stays healthy and gradually extend his innings.

His stuff looked good, just a bit off with command.

Should off-set his ERA.

Shohei is always just a bit more locked in on pitching days.

Avg with RISP ⬆️⬆️⬆️

He gave up 1 run and has 2 RBI so far, not too bad.

Nice #17 but you should probably edit your post about soliciting to buy wax. This also isn't a buy/sell thread.

How many of this card do you think were produced? And is it worth a 18 Finest Refractor

“2018 Bowman Chrome National Convention Shohei Ohtani RC #BNR-SO

NSCC 2018 offered a lot to collectors, and that includes exclusive Shohei Ohtani rookie cards. The 2018 Bowman Chrome National Convention set contains a base Ohtani card and an autograph with only six copies.”

Anyone else super excited about how Ohtani did with his pitching debut? Was not expecting him to be throwing 100 or for his pitches to be looking that good considering this is like his spring training. His command was off, but it was not terrible considering the circumstances. I was a little worried Ohtani might not be the pitcher he was before the second surgery. At this point I feel pretty confident he will eventually be a top of the rotation pitcher again.

Thanks mate. It's a pretty rare card. My card is the 2013 1st version patch. The version 2 patch sold last year for over 5K $ ( PSA 8 ) Total pop for the 2nd version is 6. I will grade mine this year directly on site to avoid the shipping process between Canada and the US.

There was one pitch he threw to a lefty that was straight filthy. Started inside off the plate, then spun back over the inside corner of the plate while diving down for a strike. Basically unhittable. Also made Arraez look straight foolish on a swing a miss, something he rarely does.

I definitely was not expecting 100 MPH in his first game back. Triple digit velo is a very good sign.

Will be fun for sure. I think the last iteration brought a lot of attention to the series. Will be rooting for Team USA and Team Japan again.
