We are 1 SB and MVP in (likely a 2nd this year) and projecting and talking about him as having GOAT status.

This is cray cray.
He would need 5+ to be in the conversation and I’m comfortable saying that isn’t going to happen.

One interesting thing about Rodgers in terms of the hobby is that he has been given an extremely long leash because the potential was always there. I can't tell you how many times his cards doubled or tripled during the playoffs because he had huge stats and people thought "finally he's going to break through and get his second ring." He has had some cards sell for a ton of money at different points. Heck, his Contenders PSA 10 was up to 40k at one point, and that was 15 years in with only one SB.

Mahomes will always be in that category of "he's about to breakthrough" so there will always be bumps for him come playoff time, especially if he is playing well.

With all due respect, this post is entirely false.

a) Show me a playoff game where Rodgers "imploded." Just one. He has a career 45/13 TD/INT ratio and 100.1 rating in the playoffs. In no game did he ever "implode." I can think of three QB playoff implosions in my lifetime and none of them include Rodgers.

This is MFaulk's main point - it seems like this new school of QB fans just want to trash all other great QB's in order to make theirs look great. Especially when there's nothing to trash. I mean, what's the point? I'm probably the #1 all-time fan of Rodgers, but to me, Manning has my GOAT QB spot even considering, yes, his 2nd SB was kind of a gift. Brees? I'm not a big fan, but respect his accomplishments all while being cast off after his shoulder injury and being undersized at barely 6 ft., if that.

b) Rodgers' prices never doubled or tripled or anything even remotely close to that. I've been collecting him since 2008 and know every peak and valley in his market. His Contenders PSA 10 peaked during the hobby bubble, just like all other cards- the last one to sell was $14k. Pretty fair price for an inner ring HoFer.

I bought and sold 2 contenders PSA 10s for $1600 in 2013

I liked the look of some of the Clearly stuff, but the back edges are terrible on most of them, absolute QC nightmare.

GOAT is a generational thing though, right? People over 60 generally think Bart Starr is the GOAT. Then there's a 50-60 age group who would say Montana. Then the 35-50 age group probably says Brady, though I'm sure there are plenty in that group who would argue Manning or just won't say Brady because of the "cheating".

The under 35 group right now is up for grabs and Mahomes doesn't have to break any of Brady or Starr's records to be the GOAT for this age group. He obviously needs a few more championships, but he doesn't need 8 or 5 or whatever is being suggested here. His highlight reel after 5 seasons is better than any of the other GOATs and is generally liked by the public - he probably needs 4 and he'll be a GOAT with the rest.

Stupid take man let it rest. There’s only one GOAT it’s the guy with more Super Bowls than any franchise. We get it Brady kicked your teams teeth in all the time get over it.

Alright guys, here it is... I'm not sure it need much introduction around here, but it's my #1 pickup of 2022:

The Game ball from the :13 second game vs Buffalo, signed by Mahomes, Tyreek, and Josh Allen.

I don't think I have to explain how awesome of a piece this is. I'll vividly remember watching this game for a long long time. So getting able to own a piece of the action is something I couldn't resist.

Denver has been terrible this year but Wilson actually was playing well until he had the concussion last time they played KC. Also they just fired their coach so maybe they will be extra motivated tomorrow. KC better be ready.

I was actually able to look it up through Beckett authentication. Tyreek signed it some time very close to when the game happened. Mahomes signed it a few months later (mini camp?), and Allen signed it towards the end of the summer. So I immediately have to give some props to Allen for signing something like this.
