AMEX guy? Chase? Citi? Guessing that your penchant for flying JunkBlue has you with a little Barclay's action.

I'm spread across all of the major banks - need a couple hundred thousand points in all the major programs. I am short on Citi and Cap1.

I'm not profitable enough for Cap1 (ie, don't carry balances) and Citi just hasn't been worth my time...yet. Though that'll likely change soon. I'm mostly out of Chase options and got an AMEX Pop Up during my last app-o-rama

Depends on your goal.

Simple cash back, you're best looking at Discover (Discover It - 2% back first year and 5% rotating categories), Capital One (2% back everywhere w/ an annual fee - but could be a toe tip situation for using/converting to miles/transfer partners), or Citi (2% cash back everywhere).

If you're looking to fund travel, that can get significantly more complex, but not impossible to figure out.

I'm looking to add debt because I don't have enough "debt to income ratio" for the mortgage company. Insane to me that having no debt is worse than drowning in debt to them. You'd think having no debt would make them say we want to loan this person money

I had to go thru this exact situation long time ago.

I went a different way than you.

I bought a new car.

Several months later I was approved to buy a house.

My car is the entire problem. I bought it new in January 2022 and paid it off in 18 months. It has just over 32,000 miles on it, so I don't really need a new car. As much as I'd love to have a 2026 Corvette Stingray, I don't want a car payment.

Here's what I would do in your situation - not saying this is what you SHOULD do; just what I WOULD do (Not financial advisor, and not financial advice etc etc):

Get a credit card with ~$10k limit

Put every bit of my monthly spend on said credit card

Find out the statement cut date on the card

Pay off everything I've spent on the card save for about $500 bucks - ie if I spend $3,147 in a month and my statement cuts on the 22nd - on the 20th I would pay $2,500 to the card

22nd of the month my statement cuts and the credit card lender reports my credit usage at ~6% - the following Monday, I would pay off the statement balance of $647

Repeat processes above for 6 months - should have about $350-400 in rewards plus whatever sign up bonus the card offered

Ideally my credit score goes up significantly in those 6 months and I can apply for whatever I want moving forward.

Again, not your financial advisor - just saying this is what I would do if I were in that situation

Back from over a mile walk with the Little One.

70 and sunny!

More acorns for her to "cook" on her stove.

For you PA people who go to NJ, beware. You may need to bring your own utensils soon. One of the legislative committees passed a new bill that would ban single-use plastic utensils & fine any business that would hand out plastic utensils with a $1,000 fine. It's heading to the full legislature next.

Boo will just bring his own. No worries. He has drawers filled with them. Can’t throw that away

Had my alarm set for 4am. Towtruck driver woke me uo around 330am. Hooking up a car right
in front my my moms house. Her neighbor parks and blocks her mailbox. His tags were out of date. Don't think that's why they towed though. Probably a repo
