Don't forget about Rojas grounding into a triple play in the bottom of the ninth with Shohei on deck in a 4-2 loss to the Padres.

That was an absolute killer.

It’s an Apple broadcast and she’s wearing Apple headphones. Reporters typically have ear pieces that are less visible. But Apple may as well sell headphones while broadcasting.

Nobody cares about the stolen bases anyway after the rule change. Zero SBs or 50 SBs, the only thing that matters is if he hits 60 or 70+ home runs this year.

You think he wasn’t winning MVP if he stole zero bases during that time? People may talk about it, but it’s not a difference maker except to people like Rubin who need it to push product.

Ask Matt Olson about that.

I would like to see four plus MVPs. If he can get there with big home run numbers, that works for me. If pitching again, or stealing bases makes it happen, then I want to see that as well.

I really like Ohtani at lead off. He doesn’t get pitched around as much and he gets max AB’s. It’s not the best recipe for RBI’s, but it’s the best for seeing decent pitches to swing at.

He has especially capitalized on those first AB’s of the game. Nobody starts the game by putting him on first when you have the strength of the lineup coming up after him. It’s basically like gifting the Dodgers a run. It makes more sense to take your chances on getting him out.

A bit of a tangent, but Judge doesn’t have quite the lineup protection by contrast. You can afford to put him on and not get burnt as often.
