Padres are six back of the wild card with three other teams ahead of them looking from the outside. Padres should trade him, but I bet they think they can be competitive next year.

I mean, looking at everything, Padres should be better.

They are 4th in pitching basically, have a solid starting rotation, excellent closer, solid lineup mostly.

Just the black holes in their lineup with Cronenworth, Grisham, DH Cruz/Carpenter and bullpen has them on the outside looking in. Soto needs out of San Diego, but I don't think they will trade him unfortunately.

Juan Soto said he and Bob Melvin agreed on Soto getting tomorrow's start off to rest the finger that's bothered him since spring training. Soto said the finger has been "up and down" recently.

Been hurt all year. Pitchers still scared to death of him.

Soto is under contract through the 2024 season...did not know about his finger that is a long nagging issue.

They have done really well trading and signing big names and done really awfully trading and signing secondary names. I mean take the Marcano and Suwinski for two months of Adam Frazier on a sinking ship trade as an example. Or the Anthony Munoz and Ty France for Austin Nola trade. All of that just depletes any team depth. Hell, the Soto trade they needed to do 10 out of 10 times but then they paid at least full price for him.

Yes it's out of hand. I saw someone mention tacofractor and definitely thought it was a joke. Lo and behold it's a real thing.

Maybe I'm getting old but I just like the simple solid color parallels.

Losing Snell and Hader will certainly make it tougher.
