My 1924 World Tour Program. To those considering buying a Jennings, watch out for 1920's Jennings signatures. If you see a capital "J", it is probably clubhouse-signed. Several have gotten past PSA.

UGH! I was the underbidder on this...you got a great deal on that item considering you nabbed McGraw as well.

I'm actually surprised this hasn't happened more often considering that so many of us are chasing so many of the same guys. In fact, as much as I love y'all, I never show or talk about a card I'm watching, chasing or bidding on until after it arrives, better safe than sorry.

I've even delayed posting the HOF'er of the day a couple of times as it was a player I needed and was watching an item of. Didn't want to put any fresh ideas into people's heads to go searching and competing against me.

There are a few of us on Net54 (whyconform included) that will talk offline and stay out of each other's way to not bid up an auction. We all know the Auction House players so there are few surprises in that regards. This was NOT one of those times and I just happened to bid higher than Bill. I am sure Bill and I will have a talk prior to the HA/REA auction next month as their appears to be plenty of rare items coming up.

I wish I was a high roller.

I hope to be chasing items like that some day!

By no means did I think or intend to infer that there were nefarious intentions with your bidding. The post just triggered a thought and I tend to have diarrhea of the typing fingers when thoughts pop into my head suddenly.

I do really need to look more seriously into these auction houses though. Moyni has tried to convince me to look into them and I've done cursory inspections but have never tried one. All of my collection comes from Ebay or COMC. I need to broaden my horizons, especially being closer to the pointy end of the spear.

Now I just want to upgrade to a better looking Ban. LOL

I feel the same way, not even posting mine. However I do like the baseball letterhead both of ours are on.

I came across these recently and managed to work a pretty decent trade for them all.
Very happy to add these to my growing baseball collection.

Especially since he never played for the Braves. Atlanta signed him at age 62 and kept him on their roster until he could get a MLB pension.

One of my favorites-a rare full name Judy Johnson letter, used in PSA's Autograph Facts. Speaking of which-congrats to Jim Doyle to be the first person (i know of) to complete 100% of PSA's HOF autograph list (not inlcuding optional players).
