The "reprints" of these cards seem to be fairly recent though and are likely limited to a few losers printing copies at home. This set has always been fairly low end up until the last year or so they've gained some steam so there hasn't been much reason to fake them on a large scale like Contenders. You're likely okay buying raw from reputable sellers.

On my side note, I think these 2000 Metal Bradys are highly underrated and due for a bump, especially in decent condition. There's likely a lot less made than Bowman, and as mentioned above, a lot more condition sensitive.

Funny how it's brought up for a few posts in an hour or so timeframe in this thread and then the Metals on eBay start getting bought up.

Crazy how few of these there are available as compared to Bowman, especially the Metal Emeralds

Well in that case, I think Autographics Silvers /250 should be selling for around $10,000.

Far more people lurk as opposed to actually posting.
This thread is a treasure trove of information and we have our finger firmly on the heartbeat of his cards.

Sometimes I wonder how much impact this forum has on the secondary market. I don't use social media, so I don't really have any reference points for comparison, but I've been told that Blowout members are only a small fraction of the hobby.

At the very least, this thread seems to be influential. Since it was started a year ago, it's received over 81,000 views and 2,800 posts.

Absolutely agree, especially with the bolded.

Also agree with this. Relatively speaking, I think the BO community of members who actually contribute here and provide good information and insights on the hobby is just a small percentage of the overall people in the sports card hobby. The thing is, people know there are a lot of other people that look at this forum, even if not members, and use what they see here to influence their buying hoping to get in early on the next big card/player to increase - that's why there are so many player/card "hype" threads started all the time in the hobby talk sections of all sports.

I almost bought that PSA 9 that was up, but I didn't I usually only buy the Brady cards that I like and don't focus a lot on price or value, but this thread has been very helpful as a former lurker, so thank you all. Everyone wants to make $$$ but I get too attached

That SGC 9 metal is tempting...

the metal rookie is a great card. i bought a raw card last spring, had it graded and let it go just a couple weeks ago at a nice flip. the problem was i missed having one in the collection more than any other brady i have let go of thus far.

Well, I was in the running for this, but bowed out at $12k. Lots of potential here, but I still think it went a little high. That's all assuming the seller with 5 feedback and only one low end sale in the last 6 months was really sitting on this mountain. Good luck to the winner! Hope you score big!

Everything is connected. There are far more lurkers than posters on this. I am sure some people read up on some of the cards and grab them before it is too late, I know I have in the past. I fell asleep on the Emerald last year, it sat around 700-900 forever.

Could get 1K raw

PSA 9s were barely over 1 K last month.

I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed, but it seems like some of the less popular Brady RCs haven't moved up nearly as much as the more popular ones. I'm not talking Fleer Tradition, I mean more mid-level type cards that are still nice cards but not the most sought after. Also, when you check the listings there usually aren't very many people watching.

This isn't exactly surprising, but from a value standpoint I'm wondering if it makes more sense to scoop up some of those cards now and then hope that the more popular ones even out at some point.

PS - I know there are going to be "they're never coming down again" responses. Let's just say I hope that isn't true.

Depends. The top tier ones (Contenders, SPA, LL) will probably even out at some point. The SPA already has, I recall PSA 10s going over 20 K last year and they are around 15-18 now. Contenders has not slowed down at all, which makes sense because it is the 1 card that every collector, investor, and Pats collector would want if they had to choose 1 card to have. I do not see that one ever going down (Pats uni, on card auto, tough grade and not many in top condition). The others in the middle (Showcase as an example) I think have room to grow because they were low for so long, and not many have popped up in top grades. If you look at the pop reports, they are pretty rare, versus the printed population of the card itself. I think those will continue to rise but def have more or a ceiling than the top tier cards.

I was also watching this one. Sent the seller several messages asking for individual pics of each card outside of the sleeves. Finally responded promising pics...and never sent them. Two different bidders retracted their bids in final 24 hours...likely because they also couldn’t get a response from the seller. Asking 10k+ on 30 raw cards and providing good pics is the least you can do as a seller.

I could circle potential condition issues on every single card...and one of them is visibly creased. If those cards were listed individually you would certainly expect good pics of the cards outside of the sleeves. Why is this any different...? Too many red flags...and the most likely reason that these cards aren’t graded is that they likely aren’t worth grading.

Good luck to the buyer...think they might need it.

Yep, I would rather just spend 15 K on a few nice PSA 10s.

This is hilarious:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/2000-Crown-...oAAOSwBRVaX51P

Love it when sellers pump Pop Report numbers for a card in average condition. "Wow...! Only 5 in 8.5...and 325 graded higher!" Ha.

Great points. I'm TOTALLY going to win the lottery and then buy a few Contenders. Failproof plan.
