They aren’t great. If we were playing somebody decent all 3 of our players would be on the field. It’s 37-6 now with 7 minutes left.

Show sucked in terms of sales but I went through several quarter boxes from a nearby dealer and pulled nearly 900 cards. He told me I should go through them as he had just loaded them up. The discount was supposed to 100 for $20 but I ended up with a big discount off of that. Heck, I found a Topps Chrome Jose Ramirez rookie in there.

Hopefully sales are much better tomorrow.

Morning everyone. Can barely keep my eyes open so it is not good, bad, ugly, whatever. Leaving in a few for the show. No Polar Pops for me as I am drinking a can of Mountain Dew now to get the caffeine flowing ASAP.

Never won state. Played for it 3 times and came up short every time. Lost by 4 in 2006 after a late pass interference call where the other teams WR fell down. A apology was later issued for the call. Were driving inside the 5 to tie the state title game in 2016 and fumbled. Other team ran it back and we couldn’t answer.

Played to go to state several other times including my junior year when we were 13-0 and lost to the eventual state champs. Senior year we beat the team that ended up winning state in the regular season. Got upset in the playoffs by a team that had limped through the season with serious injuries. Everybody was healthy to play us.

For someone like me, who brings so many boxes of cards, it truly is a grind. At this show, I had 10 card box rows worth of loose packs, 9 rows of penny-sleeved dollar cards, 19 rows of Priced As Marked cards (sorted by sport and alphabetized), and 32 rows of top-loaded $2 cards. This does not count 6+ boxes worth of 130+ blasters and over 40 different unopened boxes. It takes me 3 trips out with my cart. Sometimes I have no idea how I get everything into my 20 year old Corolla.

This week, I have to find and fill in over 2 rows worth of $2 cards between the sports, add a bunch to my low-dollar loose packs and add about a row to my PAM basketball. This is not a complaint as this has been my job for the last year. As long as I can meet my expenses and have enough movable inventory, this is what I will continue to do. At home, sometimes I work 50-60 hour weeks, sometimes barely any time at all. What I mentioned above should hopefully be only 10-12 hours of work.

Yesterday sucked big time. Today was much better. 1 of my regular and 1 semi-regular What Not customers came in today and spent a decent amount. I had 2 other pretty good sales, not counting the person who texted me last night and asked me to bring in my 2024 NASCAR for him. He took the Prizm set I had for him and another 150 or so singles.

Turned down the Presidents Suite for the Newberry College game tonight. To think, the kid that use to sleep on the floor and only ate in college because he had good friends on the football team with unlimited meal plans is now being invited to the President’s Suite for games. Said I could bring up to 10 people with me, food and drinks would be covered.
