They weren't kicked off eBay for shill bidding. They were kicked off because eBay wanted to start it's own vault.

They have a third party who monitors the auctions.

They also weren’t booted for shilling. They were booted for rebuking eBay’s attempt to partner in a vault. Wonder how the vault is working out for eBay.

It got graded,came back BGS 9 Mint with 10 Auto. Tied for highest grade.


Goldin had just auctioned Black RPA 5/5, about 2 months earlier for $393,000 (same grade 9)
And month before pwcc sold Black RPA 3/5 for $288,000 (same grade 9)

So I used Goldin, and it got only $216k. Dropped roughly $180,000 in 2 months. Luckily I only paid $2,000 for it back when set came out. But its wild to look at prices just months ago....

Heck about 1 year ago in August 2021 it was selling for $630,000 in this grade. I got 216k. Dropped $400,000 in past 14 months

That's nuts. The last 18 months is the first time I've ever seen card prices not track closely with on field performance / hype. it's usually been predictable. As stated in other threads, the amount of speculation injected into the system that is now escaping is causing such a huge price vacuum that it's pulling prices down hard. Takes so much upward momentum, usually for a player to have to have an exponential increase in demand overnight to offset the declining values. Sad state

If your goal is to be a flipper and instantly make money off of cards you buy one month, then sell the next, then 2022 might be a tough year for you.

Those of you who have been in this game for a while probably remember what the market was like for Tom Brady after he won his 3rd Super Bowl in 2005, then got faded a bit as he didn't win another for 10 years and the country went through it's worst financial crisis in 80 years.

What I'm doing really narrowing down my search for stuff that is exceeding rare and has significance. And I really don't pay much attention to if it's going to be higher or lower in 6 months...that's not my time frame and if it's something that would be available 6 months from now, then I'm probably not buying it right now anyways.

Just my viewpoint.

Gold Vinyl around $225k.

XRC Gold $75k.

XRC Tye Dye $15k.

The only one that seems surprisingly low is the Contenders PSA 10 at $25k.

The Gold Vinyl sold for $138k less than what a BGS 9.5 copy did in August.

Looking at how the two Champ Tickets and LeBron Exquisite /23 did, there’s no reason to buy modern right now unless it’s ultra rare and you must have it.

I was expecting even more of a tank for Mahomes, but those are surprisingly strong imo based on the 50% tank of everyone else.

I am not disagreeing that the market is softening for top end cards like this. I just wanted to post about a satisfied market, where it comes to your sale. Since 3 copies hit the market at nearly the same time

Only 5 cards made, and these 3 all graded out the same.

1st sale sold for the most, as it had all active bidders in it. IE, those that could afford and really wanted a copy of that card.

2nd sale presumably had one less bidder on the top end. And that would be the satisfied buyer who now already owns a copy (the winner of the first auction) Without that bidder to chase and bump up the price, it sold for less.

3rd sale (yours) now is without 2 buyers. Both satisfied since winning auction 1 or 2. And without those deep wallets (with a desire to own one) your lost them from your buyers pool.

But last month the BGS 9.5 copy sold for exactly $138k, so this wasn't a surprise.

Weird Burrow sales:

PSA 9 NT RPA /99 did $23k
PSA 9 NT RPA Gold /10 did $25k

Insanely low for the Gold.

As for Herbert, I don't know where these prices were before, but his NT /5 did $81k. I'm sure it's done more before, but at the end of the day this is a guy who has a career losing record, has never made the playoffs, and isn't a lock to make it this year.

Yeah the bidding picked up a bit at the last second. Contenders 1/1 jumped ~70% from when I was looking at it.

The Contenders 10 is a big haircut as that was a $40K card in a BGS 9.5 just 18 months ago if memory serves me correctly. Would have expected the Black Finite Prizm to go higher, and last February one would have to think the Contenders 1/1 was a 1 mill card. Don't know anything about the history but judging what the NT 1/1 sales have been. Still a strong sale but man, if I had 8-9 figure net worth I'd be building a nice PC that would never see the light of day with some of these.

The gold and tie die XRCs were great buys in my opinion. Both rare and highly sought after cards. The tie dye might be his most attractive rookie card.

At this point some of his cards are at a floor or too cheap given past accomplishments and current performance. Only a matter of time and his cards will start to tick back up again. Great time to be a buyer may never see prices like this again.
