Then I saw something else that I just had to have. A card that will be cherished in my collection forever, even if Elly flames out early. I don't want to spill the beans, but just tease you all. I will be sure to post a picture in this thread first when it arrives.

Thank you Ohio Lawyer for sharing the Elly card! It was truly a pleasure to create it, and to be honest I can't remember a player I have enjoyed drawing more than Elly!

It's been great following his journey, and hopefully he'll continue the great path he is on.

It was nice to see Elly play well, but it's tough to see him go 2 for 4, with a 2B and stolen base, while the entire team goes 2 for 29 with a 2B and stolen base. He literally was the Reds offense last night.

I know Marte is out for a while but when does McClain come back from injury. Reds need some help around Elly. Also, this thread has been so much better the last two weeks with discussions about the player and not the other nonsense or egomaniacs blowing up the thread.

Pretty sure McLain is out until at least August, but will be re-evaluated this week. If it looks good he will be able to resume baseball activities, but playing games is a long way off.

The best news is Friedl is currently on a rehab assignment and 2 night ago took a ball off the deep centerfield wall. So hopefully the wrist injury hasn't affected his power much. He's close to coming back.

It's neat to see just how much he gets in the head of pitchers. It's like all they can think about when he's on base is how can I keep him from stealing. One of those benefits that doesn't show up in the statline.

Yes. It happens with pretty much every prolific base stealer.
