SOS preseason is based on previous seasons win %. Actual SOS will fluctuate based on win % of 2022 schedule. And yes, SOS itself does have flaws, if it does not have flaws, why is it that the top 4 teams in each conference don't make the top 4, top 2 best win% teams make the top 2, etc.

As previously mentioned, the actual SOS of the teams will fluctuate as the games are played. NFC West is underplaying their projections as it stands today, while Jets/Fins/Giants are overplaying their projections. Historical data for teams does matter. Chiefs are playing:
-All 3 teams (other than KC) to make the Final 4 in last years playoffs (SF having a .500 record this year, LA <.500 this year)
-6 of the 7 opponents in last years final 8 (other than KC) to make the final 8 in last year playoff. The one team they don't play of this cohort...Green Bay

If you believe that that somehow changes this year and it will be some combination of Jets/Dolphins/Giants/Eagles, than sure, you win. I'd bet against that playing out at the end of the year.

Nobody mentioned 2021 SOS except you. 2021 actual performance was mentioned, which is the bottom link below. Preseason SOS #11. After season SOS based on win % which does have its flaws #3.

I thought of this earlier today and wanted to share with some more casual Chiefs fans. The remaining guys on the KC Roster from Super Bowl LIV are:

It is remarkable Kansas City has dredged almost their entire roster since 2019 and is still performing at a high level.
