I hated it. When I lived in Vegas for a while after we bought a casino, someone called and asked if I wanted to hit a bar to watch the games. I had just gotten there so didn't really put two and two together. He showed up at 9 am to go to the bar...No thanks

Just looked it up. Wow times have changed. 2018 Black Friday I paid $199 here for the Optic Mega cases.

I also bought a ton of 2017 R&S blaster cases on ebay in 2019 for $299 each. Ended up with over 50 of every player. If anyone needs any rookies besides Mahomes, Watson or CM, hit me up

Yeah, the 2018 Black Friday sale was the case of 2017 Optic blasters for $199.95; not bad at $10 a box.

The first football box I bought when I got back into the hobby was a 2017 optic blaster on clearance at walmart for $14.97 and it had a Mahomes Rated Rookie Aqua #/299 in it. Just sitting there for 2 years.

Retail products that are discounted dont just sit there for years. They are probably returns from other stores. Usually they get stocked again a year or more after initial release. Ive even seen some retail products get stocked 5-6 years after their initial run. Doesnt mean they were sitting there all that time.

Ah yeah, that's true - I've seen distributors drop off clearance items.

At the time, I thought the Joe Montana AKA insert was the best hit of the box (lol) but that Mahomes was the catalyst to my Mahomes collection.

IMO Optic but this has been discussed quite a bit before. General thoughts are:

Prizm Pros:
- Prizm
- Tough to find a gem copy without the factory dimple

Prizm Cons:
- Base is silver, confusing
- No on card auto

Optic Pros:
- Base is base
- Holos have way lower PR than Prizm
- Different photo than 90% of his rookie cards
- On card autos

Optic Cons:
- Some say the Rated Rookie set is an insert set and not a true base
- No helmet pic = not game action (or fake game action)

Toss Select in the mix with its in game photo but no concourse base and some "prizm" printing errors and you've got a situation where collectors will all like a different one.

I vote for Prizm. It's technically a "silver." It's an action shot of him, not him posing for a glamor shot with his helmet off. It's also worth more.

Yeah I used to own one. That's not the kind of card you find at a yard sale. I'm surprised people have bid on it.

Did you look at the bottom rear corners? Unless somebody does a nice trim job, that's probably a PSA 8...& I'd be willing to bet there are at least a couple of small surface flaws which only show up close under good lighting.
