Watched Wishmaster 2 the other day, not as entertaining or fun as the first one. Apparently there are two more in the series

A Haunting in Venice is being marketed as a full-blown horror movie. I think the marketing might be a little misleading.

Some Like It Rare was pretty good.
Not so much horror as a gory comedy, but still entertaining. |

Somehow I completely missed the fact that the armless guy here is who directed Barbarian.

Love WKUK. Watched Barbarian the other night, that took a turn I would have never seen coming. Liked it. Watched The Town That Dreaded Sundown (~2013) tonight on Tubi. Nothing special |

My daughter and her friend found a 31 days of horror movies calendar so we are going to do our best to go through them before Halloween. All pretty mainstream but have to start somewhere.
Scream was the first movie we watched and Texas Chainsaw Massacre is next.

We started our 31 days of Halloween movie run yesterday. Started with Coraline, had never seen or read the story. I liked it, was nice and creepy especially for a kids/teen movie.

This month is appropriately loaded with horror themed anthology material.
New movie V/H/S/85 on Shudder, this Friday, October 6th. The sixth movie in the series, this mid-80's-set affair should be alternately tubular and gnarly, like, yaaah. Early reports indicate it is tasty. October 13th: New season of Creepshow (on Shudder) New series with John Carpenter's involvement: Suburban Screams on Peacock. Ah, it's a good time for the creatures of the night...

In 2022 alone, they put out "Pearl", "X", "Men" by Alex Garland, and the satirical "Bodies Bodies Bodies", all of which had endings that nailed it. They also had "The Whale" which won Brendan Fraser his Oscar and "Everything Everywhere All At Once" which won most of the others. Those last two weren't horror, but then, most A24 movies aren't.
For 2023, I personally loved "Beau is Afraid", but I can see how that one fits the meme, which really just seems tailored to Aster's "Hereditary" and "Midsommer". It looks like their big winners will be "Past Lives" and "Talk To Me", neither of which I've seen yet. "Dream Scenario" with Nicolas Cage, due in November, is getting some hype, and the vintage wrestling fan in me is looking forward to December's "The Iron Claw", which is about the seemingly cursed Von Erich family.

Is The Exorcist: Believer as bad as nearly everyone is saying it is? I don’t see how they’re going to stretch this into three movies.

I saw it last Friday and hated it. It was really predictable, there wasn't any backstory and it just felt like almost nothing happened the whole movie. The only fun part of the movie was the cameos.

I watched this last night because of this post. I wouldn't call it amazing or rate it close to a 9 but it was entertaining. Its like if the Gopher from Caddy Shack went pyscho at a Sorority House. Maybe a 6.5-7 just because it was trying to be ridiculous and silly.
I also finally watched the Pooh movie. I was hoping it was going to be much better than it was. I didn't hate it, but didn't love it. I think the premise behind the movie was clever and different and could have been great. In that aspect it was a let down. Maybe a 5 if I were to rate it. Probably much lower if it wasn't for it being Pooh and Piglet. |

I absolutely loved “Totally Killer”. It’s not quite a straight ahead horror movie, more of a horror/comedy, but the comedy landed for the most part.
