Well Monday-Thursday I have camp from 10-12 so I can’t be out. Monday I also have a 19U baseball game for kids that suck so bad they couldn’t make any of the 8 Legion teams in the county, Tuesday-Thursday I don’t think I have anything at night but I have football season to get ready for so I’ve been staying late doing inventory.

I realized that nobody is irreplaceable. If you left, they’d find someone else. If that someone else sucked at it, they’d lower their standards.

Take your time off and don’t worry about it.

Getting ready to go work Juneteenth. They have a “committee” that plans the event but does zero of the work. Hopefully nobody says anything to me the entire time I’m working. I have a headache and don’t feel like talking to people today.

When I first started there, I asked how I would know if someone was doing good or bad. The answer was you ask them. Two people were performing the same job. At the end of the shift, one said she did good, the other said she did bad. The one who said she did bad ran 2.5X more pieces than the one who ran good.

Today, I tabulate by hand the daily performance goals and previous day results. Nobody outside of me looks at it daily. We don’t talk results at all. It’s a very poorly run company.

I had to move all the food vendors in. They were told 8-9 was move in and all vehicles had to be out of the event space by 9:30, didn’t stop 1 vendor from showing up at 9:30 and another 1 showing up at 10. Since people don’t like telling people no, I had to deal with moving them into an open event space with the public walking around. The guy that showed up at 10 thought he was leaving his vehicle in the space while he set up, so I walked off and told my bosses to go deal with him.

I don’t understand why they make rules for arrival times if people are forced to abide by them. They should’ve told both of them they were late and not going in.

A friend of a friend had a tragic lethal car accident a few days ago while visiting with her kids from Houston. She left behind 6 kids in a city far from their home and the one that was in the car with her(a 9 year old girl)survived but they had to amputate the foot in order to extract her from the wreckage. We’re doing what we can to get the kids back to family in TX asap. I’m going to smoke a bunch of bbq to take over tonight for a meal for everyone while this is happening. It hit me pretty hard even though I don’t know them personally. I don’t have a lot of financial support to lend but figured some food is better than nothing in a horrible time for these people. Just fired up the smoker

That’s terrible. Food is always good to give.

Update time on me and my friend. We talked late last week and got everything straightened out. Today I took the lemonade stand downtown for her daughter to sell at Juneteenth. I would have done it even if we hadn’t gotten things worked out because it’s wouldn’t be fair to her. They had a great day of sales, sold out completely and made good money. Before I left down there this morning, her daughter called me and asked me to stop by the stand. She had made me a pina colada flavored frozen lemonade.

When I got back at 4 to get the stand, I was got it loaded up while she went to get her car. Her daughter called me in a panic that something was wrong so I went to the parking lot. My friend was having body cramps from being in the heat and not drinking enough. I ended up getting her some fluids and drove her home. I basically had to carry her in the apartment. She was doing better when I left, said she was feeling better just being in the ac.

^glad y’all are back to whatever it was before as it seemed like things were going well there for awhile. Having someone extra in your life that cares about you is a good thing.
Pedialyte or Gatorade and hopefully she’ll be good as new tomorrow
