I have from mid-May to late August "off" from teaching but that is research time. I don't really take vacations in the traditional sense. A weekend here or there, but most weeks I'm busy with research, finishing up publications, etc. If I had to teach in the summer I'd find a different job. With every passing year the students become more challenging to deal with. Fully 25% claim learning disabilities that enable them to have extra time on assignments, even to the point of being exempt from any kind of deadline or required attendance. It's simply insane.

Reminds me of the Adam Sandler SNL Colonial Museum skit when he tells Britney Spears he does all of his assignments on video because of his various learning disorders.

My wife is banned from the Sheetz by our house. She was gassing up this morning before heading to the funeral of a friend and was being hit on by some dude at the pump next to her. She said he was getting creepy.

I look at some of the students at the local college and ask myself how in the world they even got into college. It use to be that college was for the best minds, now it's for anybody willing to go into debt.

I found that when training people, if the first person doing the training is subpar, then, eventually, you’ll get such diluted training that the 3rd, 4th, 5th person is barely skilled at all. Like playing telephone.

He's not a lowly TA.

Hairy has tenure and respect.

Haven't seen that yet but more probably should based on the definition.

Ohh, quite a few! Especially those old-fashioned sour-cream cake-dough glazed ones...

Gas stations are actually the most dangerous place for women.

Polar Popped in Gulfport this morning.

Ate McDonalds in Hammond, LA for lunch.

Snacked on a couple of Moon Pies while driving from my Pigeon Forge stash.
