Because Topps doesn't seem to grasp the concept that a customer can possibly have more than 1 non MC account.

Is $225 tax and cheapest delivery really worth it?

Oh cool, now they're charging tax on the shipping charges. Seriously?

From the email:

"If you purchase during this pre-sale you will not have the option to purchase during public sale of this product"

Theoretically they want the public to go to the Topps site and buy stuff too. If we got all the stuff, it'd be bad for business. It's bad for business to give everything to the bots too, but oh well.

For some boxes yes. For some no.

This makes lite boxes more attractive (well then they were $90 + tax/shipping).

The real downer here is how expensive break prices will be right out of the gate. Not worth trying to complete a set.

They've been doing that for a while. At least back to last year's orders.

Does anyone realize how big of a ripoff this is? 2 years ago, for the exact same contents, it was $30 a box. That's almost 7 times more per box. For how much everyone complains about Panini I don't think they have raised a single product even half that in the last 2 years.

I think we all do but it's the new reality. Pay to play.

Maybe it did, maybe the market will bear more. Time will tell if that was the case.

In any case we were incredibly fortunate with those first few products last year.
Just because they have high resale value doesn't mean they are underpriced. It's the contents that shows they are now way overpriced. Is there anyone, regardless of resale value, that thinks this 32 card product should be $200 MSRP?

Doesn't matter what people think.

Its priced at $200 and it will sell out, so by that logic, its priced right.

This is not the 2019 market, wax prices are up and so are singles.

Pay to play.

I am unable to separate the two, they are inextricably connected.

Only because you currently can dump it to some idiot for a profit. If resale value right now was exactly what you were paying for it every single person on this site would be saying it's a ripoff. It's the exact same contents from 2 years ago for $30 and last year for $70 a box. At the height of the hobby a year ago they were charging $70 for this same product and contents that you are charging 3 times that for now.

I've learned a long time ago, if you don't like something, don't buy it.

Ranting resolves nothing, there will always be people with more money who want it and think it IS worth the price.

If this were not true, nothing would sell at current prices, and yet here we are.

Some people may say that burger you ate last week is ridiculously priced at $5, but if it was worth it to you, who's to call you an idiot for buying it?

Ben Baller sold out. Look at the value of that now. Trevor Lawrence boxes sold out. Look at the current value. A nice product like last years Finest Flashbacks is worth basically exactly what you paid for it right now. Topps Chrome Sapphire sold out at a point last year where people selling are taking a lose on it. Would anyone have thought 2 years ago that you would take a lose on Topps Chrome Sapphire buying at MSRP? The best the hobby works is when everyone can make out. When one side makes it all and the other side gets killed it's worse for the industry long term. Which Topps/Fanatics should care about as they have the long term business.

You really think if they eventually price every product at basically resale value that the hobby won't absolutely tank? That sure looks to be what they are aiming for.
