Great minds and such. Seriously tho... there are cards I bought earlier in the year that are 15-20 years old that I ended up selling just to buy other stuff... I was shocked to get anywhere from 2x to 6x+ for a lot of it. Only explanation I can think of is new money in the hobby.

Before the housing bust - and during 2008/2009 collectibles held/increased in value

Investors pulling their money to put it somewhere, other than the markets to maintain their net gains.

@LeahLitman
#SCOTUS allows FL to enforce its pay-to-vote scheme that disenfranchises thousands of people who were given back their right to vote under a state constitutional amendment, only to have it taken away again because they had outstanding court debts.

@LeahLitman
What Justice Sotomayor says about the hypocrisy + selective invocation of the Purcell principle is part of why it is hard to take seriously #SCOTUS's actions in the WI & AL cases that involved (loosening) voting restrictions bc of the pandemic

@LeahLitman
She is also right about the consequences: "This Court's order prevents thousands of otherwise eligible voters from participating in Florida's primary election simply because they are poor."

@LeahLitman
Again consider the timing she lays out in her dissent -- CA11 granted a stay _days_ before the election when a district court enjoined the pay-to-vote scheme over a _year_ before the election.

@LeahLitman
This is why hand waving about "principles of noninterference" & "Purcell" cannot explain or justify what #SCOTUS did in the WI & AL cases. Those principles are not consistently applied to last minute decisions _disenfranchising_ people.

I'm just glad that no governors were waltzing around and prematurely celebrating their own state's vast successes in dealing with Coronavirus only to have it hit their states hard.

It's asinine that this virus became a divisive political issue.

It's even dumber that it continues to be.

All I know is that I'm glad I don't live in Florida. I think the school open in 3 weeks and I doubt they will have a change of heart by then. It's also strange timing that the data is now being rerouted from the CDC directly to the WH. Totally normal...

It's going to the HHS not the WH. Here's a pretty good breakdown of the move:

Most is treasuries and MBS. The fed can only take on so much credit risk.

Forgive me if I don’t trust Mark Caputo with this information.

“The CDC’s old data gathering operation once worked well monitoring hospital information across the country, but it’s an inadequate system today,”

Now it’s inadequate ?

So... this is what I have to deal with on a daily basis here in the Deep South. While I know that this is anecdotal evidence, nearly every single conservative I know is just like this person and their friends. For some context, Alabama just made wearing a mask in public mandatory starting today.

You actually don't have to deal with it. You choose to

Sure, I could speak to no one and have no public presence for networking purposes, but if I want to actually live life, these are the people that I have to deal with. I'm not saying every conservative is like this, I'm just saying that a disproportionate amount around where I live are.

I had "Alabama being the first state to fall to Sharia Law" on my BINGO board.

Now all I need is "Joe Biden and Ruth Bader Ginsburg being used as ventriloquist puppets" and I get an all expense paid vacation to next year's Daytona 500!

Hey, that's totally understandable; I pretty much trust no one at this point. I've just seen a lot of posts other places along the lines of Trump is now directly getting the numbers so he can hide/manipulate them so I just wanted to point out they aren't going to Trump but to the HHS (which the CDC reports to). I don't doubt the system is antiquated as that seems to be the case with government technology for some reason but if that's really the reason it was moved? Who knows.
