No, of course not. If thats what you took out of my post that was not how it was intended. I do think the best deals on Ohtani cards are found during December (he came off another MVP and I was able to get some great deals). And at the same time if I never buy another Ohtani card in my life I will be fine. I think I have over 600 RC cards at this point.

i would not hold out for a $15 special though.
do the best you can, small batches at a time.
if his trajectory continues it will only cost more to slab
them in the future

think of it as another aspect of your collecting if you
are no longer to add more to your stack

I'd say that not only will it cost more to slab them, but also the longer you wait the more and more strict PSA will be when grading 2018 Shoheis.

I would advise you don't send the cards via bulk and just pay the $25/pop starting with the best cards. Bulk goes to NJ lately and they will CRUSH you on Sho grades. I know a few others can attest.

Thanks for the advice! Maybe I will wait to send the low end bulk when they start going back to California.

Nice to see Ohtani get #1 out of the way in Japan.

Just dropped 600 on a 2018 Topps Gold 700 PSA 8. Kicking myself for not sealing the deal on a 9 at the Nashville show, but I absolutely had to have this card for the long term and it may not get any cheaper.

It will be harder for him to get a CY with the Dodgers (At least what I saw) doing a 6 man rotation vs a 5 man. He would get less starts to accumulate stats. Granted if he goes 20-0 or something crazy then all that is thrown out the window.

I can also see more teams going to a 6 man rotation in the future especially if they ever increase the number of 26 to 28 or 30. Have the #5 & #6 guys just be inning eaters or young guys from AAA to see if they have what it takes to stick in the show.
