I think the traded/error drop in prices is due to the lack of KO on the scene. In previous years he would buy the first one listed, and didn't care of the price. That would generally set the price high, and the rest of the sales would follow. This year there was no one to set the price on them. One week after release there has still not been a single sale of the Valencia traded card. No one wants to be first to buy. There may be others like this too. I just follow that one since I have one listed.

Or that's just blather and set builders just aren't including them in their sets any more.

Could very well be true. It took the first Eaton on a 5 day .99 to sell. And they have been selling for less and less ever since so I checked out some others.

I will likely pickup the whole traded set and a bunch of Eatons for my PC. Someone will eventually come along who is going to want/need those Tradeds.

I was big into Heritage the first few years they released it (2001-2005'ish) and always had fun putting together sets and selling/trading some of the extra short-printed cards with other collectors. I have six sealed cases coming and wish I had a better feel for all of the variations right now...as in, which ones appear to be a little undervalued now (to either hold now, buy now, and possibly list later) or which ones (if any) are probably the best to consider selling, "striking while the iron is hot."

Maybe it's just a matter of going back through this thread a bit! Does anyone have any quick thoughts to categorize "buy" - "sell" - "hold" right now? It sounds like the *Action* variations are priced pretty low right now?

I was surprised how cheap some of the *Flip Stock* /5's were going for, but I'm guessing that's more likely because there's not going to be a huge set builder demand for that one, so more people just going after a few for their player/team PC?

...time to likely go back a few dozen pages, but would love to hear your thoughts

I thought they were cheap on the rookies. I was able to snag 2 Bregman flip stocks for around $80 each now a buyer has one listed for $130 Buy it now w/ no best offer. I'm not sure if I should just buy and have the 3 of them. I feel like $80 was pretty low but now I've set precedent and people don't want to buy for more. If Bregman does well I feel like 3 outta 5 rookies on a staple product would be a great thing. Should I just buy it?

yep, so many new breakers just dumping
which is amazing as case prices have climbed
folks could have just sold sealed, it is a GREAT time to buy singles and sets

I feel like some are treating this more like a high-end release now, looking for a big auto, hit, or ssp and dumping what is actually most valuable
those who are being patient are doing very well
because this is not high-end, and the value is in the smalls, and the set-building aspect UNLIKE any other product, yet many treat every product the same, open, rip, dump, move on to the next
But it's more than that, I think some just jumped into Heritage b/c of the hype and the throwbacks, etc, and did not research or talk to others of what to sell and how to sell and the values of the past, so they price lower than perhaps they could have r they do quick auctions

I keep buying 600-card master sets, and breaking them up, when I can get as much from a 1-500 set on eBay as a 600-card set, then sell the insert sets for $100, sounds good to me

The 600-card sets should dry up fairly quick at this rate, especially with all the auctions that have been run this past week. I still look for those to climb, because as we can see on eBay, the veteran guys and those with qty, still have sets listed much higher and are getting sales occasionally

might as well hold many of the actions and swaps, especially rc and trout/bryant, some folks will be grading those for sure

yes, KO being gone has brought the throwbacks way back to earth form last year, as I had said all along, I knew we would not be seeing $750-$1k for non-stars again

and the red back set builder guy is MIA, maybe due to 2 color backs, or the fact that gray is really gray, just a darker shade of the yellow, who knows, but he always paid $30-$40 for commons and $100-$500 for stars and rookies, but not this year, I have not seen him

point is, they are still tougher than their SP counterpart yet selling less in many instances, that is unheard of, so many 99 cent auctions and so many not willing just to list at say $5-$6 a common and higher for stars/rc and wait, we all know they dry up, just do a search for last year. I know when I looked last week there were only 2 corey seagers on ebay! TWO!
as far as I can see now, there are only two again, both graded and well over $100

I will say, usually one seller does not impact the market, a lot can, but there was giant seller that had sp at $1.74 free ship and sp action for under $5 free ship, THEN if you buy 25 or more, 40% off!
I went thru buying all the sp I could, as it came out to $1.04 SHIPPED per SP, haha, you could build the whole sp set for a little over $100 with the discount (minus 6 cards that they had higher or sold out)
why they would do that is beyond me, unless they just don't know about heritage, or forgot they had the discount or something

again, not to point fingers or be insulting to anyone, I seriously think it is due to so many newer folks that busted and are not familiar, or uneducated about all the moving arts in TH
it has worked for nearly 2 decades, but just like last year when newbies broke the master set values/trends for a decade out the gate, and Topps corrected that this year, only to have all the small value adds be broken
I can't tell you the number of new people who have my cell # and email now asking dozens of TH questions, like what is this, what is value, help me b/c I've never opened
I even know a guy who has never busted Heritage who did 15 cases, and admitted he had no idea what sold or how to sell it, and asked for help, that I cna appreciate, but why jump in with 15 cases your first time? smh

anyone dumping sp actions, go look on ebay at last year's or even 2013-2015
try finding them in qty
just search 2016 heritage action corey seager or kyle schwarber
not only are there only a few available, but look at prices



even the sets are super low, adding up the singles, and comparing to last 2 auctioned sets, the singles, even with some going $3-$5 are outselling sets because of the rc and trout and bryant (and seager and sanchez, and harper)

With the lower prices of the actions I don't see any reason not to put the set together.

I picked up a Betts action for $5.79, Harper action for $12.50, Eaton error for $22.50 and a Syndergaard blue auto for $42. Thought they were pretty good deals in total...

I love the low prices and from a buyers standpoint I am glad of the glut and ignorant sellers. I just wish people would stop telling them they are selling them too low because 1) if they loose money they won't keep doing it for long preventing mass production and the 400 count inserts per release to finish a master set seen this year 2) Supply will dry up and inventory should move at regular prices 3) It is a lot easier on my pocket!!!!
