Well if he's series 1 next year, he'll have hundreds of cards with "RC" on it, but only a few with "Call Up". Who knows what will get pumped going forward with all the overproduction and what will in the end be desirable. Its not going to be flagship, chrome, or potentially even sapphire.

This one if they lose 1-0 is on Boone and the hitting. He couldn’t let Gil leave on a positive note after 6 innings, but to let him pitch to Yankee killer Devers is a sin.

Judge needs to start showing he can come through in key situations. The rest of them except for Soto I expect to fail I was hoping Judge would at least advance Soto to third. Then you have Verdugo swinging at the first pitch which really didn’t help. 2-0 now after Rafaela goes deep. Looks like the Yankees 5th series loss in a row. Please fire Boone as he is not going to get any better.

See what I mean? No plunking because he keeps showing up these scrub pitchers. It’s a bitch move to plunk someone that routinely beats you.

Bringing in Tonkin Questionable pitching to Devers Assinine. 2 runs doable 3 runs not a chance. Are you guys starting to understand why Boone needs to go.

Yep going down in order was expected. They didn’t score so they didn’t have a chance to win. But in all honesty the only home run that was acceptable was Rafaela’s to even pitch to Devers with nobody on base the way he kills the Yankees is a jackass move but then again Boone fits the jackass mold.

Season is over. I’m not watching or rooting for this team any more, maybe not ever. The whole first part of the season was just to show that they are capable of winning and the last month has been to show us they don’t want to win. Gross.

I am back with depressing stats that I was doing periodically last season.
Since June 18th (home series against O's), the Yankees are 5-13. During that stretch, they are: -22nd in AVG: .229 -28th in BABIP: .258 -19th in SLG: .392 (atrocious considering who's in the lineup) -1st in Defensive production (hooray) -30th in Stolen Bases (ZERO, NONE, ZILCH) -30th in Clutch (Fangraph stat) -2nd in offensive Double Play balls (18... avg 1 per game) -30th in ERA: 5.91 (really, really bad.) -30th in FIP: 5.51 (justifies bad ERA) -30th in fWAR: -0.8 (only team with negative pitching WAR) -1st in HR allowed: 38 -30th in HR/9: 2.14 -29th in Holds: 2 -25th in Left on Base %: 67.5% -30th in HR/FB: 19.9% (to clarify, almost 20% of the fly balls hit against them are HR, which is nuts) It's honestly a shock that they've won 5 games. |

Early (possibly realistic) trade deadline wants:
1. 3B Ryan McMahon from the Rockies. (Good 3B, good hitter, DJ needs to go) 2. P Michael Kopech from the White Sox. (Can start and has experience with relief) 3. P Kirby Yates from the Rangers. (Great season so far, knows how to get to the Stadium) 4. P Tanner Scott from the Marlins (just a solid relief guy that will be a rental) 5. 1B Andrew Vaughn from the White Sox (this only makes sense if Rice regresses and Rizzo is let go) |

Plus, Yankees 2B depth isn't great as Jon Berti would be next in line and Jorbit Vivas being the only prospect that could be ready. If they part with Gleyber, that just becomes another hole to fill. |

55-37 after 92 games. If you were in a coma since the start of the season you would take that record. But for those of us who watch every game as the record stands today it is not acceptable. I really can’t figure out how they ever got to 50-22 before these last 20 games. Did everything that could possibly go right go right. Just as 5-15 is a record I can’t figure out, they can’t be this bad can they. I think they are somewhere in between the 2 examples. Face it we are stuck with Boone till the end of this season at least. Rooting for him to fail is like rooting for the pilot to crash the plane. I think if they can go 35-35 in the last 70 games they should secure a wildcard spot. From there we just have to hope they can go on a hot streak for a month. If healthy I think they could make a run. Soto knows what it’s like to lead a team to a World Series win when his team was left for dead. This Yankees team is miles ahead of where the Nationals were in that season. I keep thinking a winning streak is right around the corner but I keep being made to look like an idiot.

A few things: They've had injuries primarily Stanton, but also bullpen and Schmidt. Dominguez getting hurt and even Berti getting hurt hasn't helped. They've also been exposed in a few places, primarily throwing runners out. They're playing teams that are taking advantage of that more and more.

I'm back from vacation and I don't even want to watch or comment on this team anymore.
They were blacked out on MLB TV against the Reds when we were in Tennessee, so thankfully I didn't have to watch that embarrassment. I turn on the game last night and see Boone doing what Boone always does; left Gil in too long and he blows the game. I'm starting to hate this team and Boone again. Grisham should have bunted Cabrera over so he could have scored on DJ's double. Grisham sucks as a hitter. No reason to have him swinging and then he doubles Cabrera off 1st. The only thing exciting to watch lately as been Uncle Ben's Rice.

I know they are dealing with injuries and stuff and blah blah blah, but Trent Grisham shouldn't be starting more than 2 games a week.
Since June 18, he's gotten more than 1 PA in 12 out of 17 games. Credit where credit is due, he has an .849 OPS in that stretch. HOWEVER, that is a hot streak for him and cannot become the norm. He started 2/3 games of the CIN series and all 3 of the BOS series and was a non-factor. In the Boone era, it feels like every year the Yanks have a 'utility/defense' guy that hits WAY too much. 2023: IKF - 361 PA .646 OPS 2022: IKF - 531 PA .642 OPS 2021: Rougned Odor - 361 PA .665 OPS 2020*: Tyler Wade - 105 PA (52G) .595 OPS 2019: Juiced ball... Tauchman & Maybin had .850+ OPS...crazy 2018: Neil Walker - 398 PA .664 OPS |

I think we all thought Grisham would've been an upgrade over previous backup OFs....
But this bullpen... its awful it seems no one can deliver a 1-2-3 inning Spotlight on Cashman, we are close, he HAS to make some moves to make a legit run. Infield and bullpen help. Continued spiraling ensures Soto won't re-sign Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk Last edited by hxcmilkshake; 07-09-2024 at 12:26 PM. |
