Yes, it has on many cards. If you believe in Mahomes as an absolutely generational star who will exceed Allen, Burrow, Herbert, etc (i.e. win 3 or 4 Super Bowls) then these are still bargain prices.

I have been in the hobby for a long time and can tell you all the dips that Brady took. I think there were 10 years where he didn't win a SB.

Mahomes has been to 4 straight AFC championships. What happened is that the debacle of the Bengals game this year has really come back to haunt him. I think if the Chiefs had lost to the Bills in the game before where he and Allen both played out of their minds we would not see this kind of dip.

Mahomes absolutely IMPLODED against the Bengals. Epic fail. And that is the last memory of him this year.

I did pick up a second year Prizm gold PSA 9 (2018) last night on PWCC for $22,000. That card in a BGS 9 (which I also have) sold for 55k last year.

It's not a tank. The September 1mil sale had 2022 results priced into it. The chiefs lost the the bengals in the playoffs so the entire mahomes market has come down since. If the Chiefs had won the super bowl, the card would've been 1 million again.

If I thought Mahomes would have a career like Aaron Rodgers I would sell everything immediately. If Mahomes doesn't end up with at least 3 Lombardis it will be a disappointment.

I’m not saying it’s a tank for Mahomes. It’s a tank for most everything. Prices were crazy low across the board for much of the premier auction. 25-50% lower than previous comps. Mahomes is almost in the territory of great buy on certain cards if you are a believer.

I just checked 3-4 Allen / Herbert cards, based on what I was able to find of previous prices, haven't seen them really tank? Say the white sparkle PSA 10 Allen or the Herbert NT BGS 9 (4 color patch to be fair) or Allen gold vynil PSA 9 or Allen NT BGS 9. Seems more that Mahomes took a big dip after the kind of disappointing last season ?

His struggle will be due to the AFC being absolutely STACKED with young QB talent for the next decade, if all these other guys stay healthy. His talent is not the question.

These markets seem to be tied. They are the frontrunners to be the leaders of the next generation in their respective sports. Only difference is one already has a ring and a MVP.

That's are a lot of QBs, most of them young, with talent. Not all of them can be elite. Some will absolutely flame out. 2-3 can be superstars.

It'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

A better example is Steph Curry cards. They're barely up after getting his 4th finals ring and 1st finals mvp. The market had already priced that stuff in.

If Steph cards can't go up after that, we're due for a hard reset.

One addendum *Sure Curry super super high end may have "record" sales, but that doesn't affect most of us.

Moved my Bronze Stars last night which turned out to be the worst possible timing for that card in 18 months. Down from $30kish to $15.6. So yes, market dropped around 50%.

But still buying clean raw Pattys especially 2017 which are incredibly tough to come by

Yeah but it didn't go for much less than the last one last month. It just depends how far you zoom the graph in or out will determine how good or bad the sale looks.

The base bronze did almost 50K AFTER the playoff loss.

Well of course, but last month was mid free fall. Market for PWCC May auction was notoriously low. Downtrend likely will continue
