I think that's really overblown.

I’m so glad to see the best player of our generation going to be in the same uniform for his career. Cooperstown can go ahead and start engraving that Angels logo on his plaque

Who is the other? Bonds?

Angels ranked 6th in attendance last year with 3,020,216 people and a average of 37,286 people per game. Also people can watch Angels on TV unlike the Dodgers

I'd say Griffey was 100x more popular than Trout. He had video games, shoes, etc

Wouldn't be a bad card to be stuck with. I'll take them for free if you want them off your hands

Trout has shoes.... who's ever had their own game besides Griffey and Bo? Simple product of their generation, even the NOID had his own game in the 90's when they were making games out of any novelty! Nowadays no one would buy an individually licensed player game when you have MLB The Show.

Griffey, Jackson, frank thomas, Nolan Ryan, ryne Sandberg (kind of), Reggie Jackson, Pete rose, Tommy lasorda, Roger clemens, ripken, Tony Larussa, and I think piazza. I'm sure I missed some. But to your point, all of these are in the 90s I believe.

BTW, absolutely thrilled with Trout staying! I'm worried about the flexibility afforded to bring in other FA's in order to win but we all know home grown talent pays off best. I do thoroughly enjoy the idea of GOAT caliber legends playing a 20 year career all in the same uniform. Opts to stay and cements himself as the greatest Angel player to ever put on a uniform, neat in a game where money presents so much competition for top level talent.

I think he's talking about the Lebron effect, when he left Cleveland people hated him and to be honest his card prices remained relatively low even after winning championships when he came back to Cleveland there was a spike in his prices and after his title another large spike now that he left for LA prices went up originally but are now stagnant and media is basically saying he's over the hill and career is over......even though he puts up crazy numbers still but perception is everything I guess and a lot of people just feed into media craze. Either way as long as Trout is happy I'm happy. He's a great role model and staying with 1 team his whole career win or lose maybe will make future stars do the same like in the good old days when loyalty meant something. But I'm sure his big signing will get more media attention and push prices to even more ridiculous levels than what they are. At least for the guys with a nice collection already I think we all hope so lol.
