Most of them probably weigh 300+ lbs and haven't worked out in years.

He'd have to pay $200+ if it were real. Fortunately for him he should be OK with the $12 service since it's just a heavily damaged reprint.

I guess the real question is, what does he do once it comes back to be fake?

Does he start his sob story about how he's had it so tough in life and now he got ripped off?

Does he blame SCG (AKA 'The Man') for holding him down?

What's his next play after the inevitable?

Here is a question.

Has that piece of card board gone up in value because of it's 15 minutes of fame?

He'll say SCG got it wrong and that they don't know what they're talking about.

Wall Street is honestly safer than sports cards.

Think about that.

Have a great day everyone and I cannot wait to see more updates on this Honus/Reporting disaster/scam.

Very interesting question! I am going to say absolutely. Even as a fake, this card will now probably fetch more now than it ever would have. But only if he sells soon!

I haven't seen him listed anywhere on top 100 prospect lists, and given the condition of the card, I don't think it looks good...even if it is his RC.

No.

It's not a reknowned fake because no one of any note ever believed it was real or paid near market value of a real version. Just having some local news station fall for it isn't enough.

I fear you are vastly underestimating the stupidity of people! There seems to be always someone out there willing to pay a high dollar for something that has been in the limelight, no matter how dim. There is a very good chance that someone *may* pay more than it is worth. Not necessarily more than what he paid for it though. Pure speculation either way, and any added value will probably be vaporized after a few days that this thing is not publicized, but I am VERY curious as to what the end result is to all of this.

I could take a crap in a mason jar and get more facbook likes/hits/etc than this story. Attention comes, and is, cheap these days.
