It’s more so Topps has terrible packing/mixing procedure than rigging. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If your packing procedures are set up so that this happens regularly it's a feature, not a bug.

Granted, when you get skunked it’s a kick in the
But it’s also cool to break a loaded box. I almost think it’s a cool trade off. Or do people prefer cookie cutter boxes with equal hit ratios?

Loaded box is fine, but just having one huge hit makes any box break on its own. I think most of us have a bigger problem with case A having six or seven cards clearly bigger than anything in case B. We don't even try to fill Star Wars case breaks on the forum anymore after getting weak cases for what felt like years. Now you see insane cases going to whoever has the most social media followers and it feels like ripping a box or two is a gut punch every time.

In the case of 3 Harrison Ford sketchagraphs in one case that ended up with a breaker, you have people suspicious that loaded cases are intentionally going to breakers. But in reality, these days, cases aren't even available to regular folks. Most if not all inventory went to the big online shops and breakers, and a few measley boxes were available to the public through Topps / Fanatics, but your average consumer hardly had a chance to get one box at retail price unless they had extreme good luck or a bot to help them when the product went live through the Topps / Fanatics site.

Contacted D&A yesterday and got the link to sell. I was just waiting to confirm I had it in hand, which I did yesterday afternoon. Now the "we buy" link is gone save for cases.

They don't seem to be putting in extra spacers or other things to throw off the product weight, and it seems some of more valuable cards are those SSP Cortosis Metal cards, which appear to have some heft to them. There's also a few framed metal cards, and the Quad Auto I saw pulled of the Sequel Trilogy Characters was a heavier Metal card. So there could be some concern that folks would weigh boxes and sell the light ones. Just a thought. Also something to keep in mind if you're buying single boxes on the 'bay, folks.

I did about a case and 2 boxes.
Pulled a Hayden, Mace, Emperor Trio auto, a Mark Hamill Chrome Black auto, a Qui Gon Jedi Knight Superfractor, and a Chewbecca Civilized age. Have some other hits also. This product is not bad, only one truly "bad" box out of my 8. |

Congrats on your hits from your "about a case and 2 boxes." That made me smile for some reason. I was going to say - is "about a case and 2 boxes" 10 boxes, 12 boxes, but then you said "out of my 8." So, by my math, that'd be 1 case and 2 boxes. Not "about" anything.

A product like this really needed case guarantees like what leaf does with pop century. Would’ve stopped the issue of 3 Harrison Ford Sketchagraphs in a single case and would increase the value and collectibility of this set.
“1-2 autos per case from Mark Hamill,Harrison Ford,Ewan McGregor,Hayden Christensen,Samuel L,Natalie Portman,Keira Knightley,Diego Luna,Emilia Clarke,Pedro Pascal,Daisy Ridley,Adam Driver,Oscar Isaac” all the sudden this set by case would be a legitimately great value and most people would walk away happy. |

Break the signers into tiers. Tier A being say Hamill, Ford, Portman, Pascal... Tier B being say McGregor, Christensen, Jackson, Knightly, Luna, Clarke, Ridley, Driver, Isaac Tier C the likes of Jancinto, Felicity Jones, Dafne Keene, etc. Tier D and E being all the Clone Wars actors, cartoon folks, etc. If they could guarantee one Tier B auto and one Tier C auto-per 6 box case, with Tier A autos falling in one out of every "X" cases (dunno what's reasonable - every 10 cases?) - that'd be pretty cool. No one would end up w/ their biggest hit being a Matthew Wood on-card Grevious Auto for a $3k case. But that's likely fantasy land, unfortunately.
