Congrats on the pickup!
Thank you. With this card my main concern was for it to just be centered. This card is normally all over the place

It arrived today. I think it looks much better in person. Good surface as well. I like my vintage a little beat up usually anyways. Lol

Thanks! I’ve always wanted this Gehrig card and I finally got one! It has great eye appeal and the yellow really pops.

This past week’s pickups. Have wanted the Jackie for a long time and the Campanella is one of my favorite looking cards.

These are both beautiful cards. I have a ‘54 Jackie at PSA now but not nearly in that condition

Default 2021 Vintage Show Off Thread

Had a Willie fun mail day today. The 52’s centering is what it is, and with what’s been happening to his prices I figured I might as well at least make sure I grab one. Just waiting for the 69 to arrive and then I’ll have the complete Topps run.

Those Jackie’s and the Mays (especially the 52) are straight fire!

I agree!

You also post up some great cards, Ignatius. Thanks for your shows.

Whackadoo's are something else as well, as well as many others in this thread.

I don't always post my likes for every pic post, but I sure do like looking at them all.

that Gehrig is absolutely stunning. no one would even blink if it was in a PSA 4 holder.

Thanks man. It has a small surface vein near the top of the card that extends maybe 3/8” that drops the grade down, but it does look super nice for a 3. Thanks again.

Also, the centering and eye appeal of this Mantle are outstanding. This is the kind of card that you can stare at for a while, but you might be blinded by its sheer beauty.

picked up my largest purchase ever today:

1938 goudey heads up RC #250 joe dimaggio sgc 4.

eye appeal is outstanding. sorry I'm inept about posting pics.

file this under "what the wife doesn't know wont hurt her", LOL

also received in the deal was a 1923 strip cut babe ruth, sgc 3

I gave up a psa 9 bowman chrome rookie trout (#101) and 2nd and 3rd
year jordans, beckett 8 and 9 respectively, and CASH.

So a couple of weeks ago I was visiting my parents. Since they knew I was into collecting and had the hall closet full of sports cards ....

Parents: Did you hear about the sports card market becoming popular and cards are selling for over a million dollars?

Me: Yes.

Parents: Do you have a Mickey Mantle?

Me: Yes, but it's not the one you think it is. (I have a 1965 Topps Mantle Hits HR in PSA 8)

Parents: Okay, but is it still worth something?

Me: Not as much as that Mickey Mantle card you are thinking about.

Parents: Did you hear about a card called the Wagner? It sold for over 2 million.

Me: Yes, I know.

Parents: Do you have that Wagner card?

Me: I have cards from the same set, but not that one.

Parents: (they looked at each other as if I was holding out on them) Are you sure?

Me: Yes, I'm positive.

Parents: (with a voice slightly stressing) You have a card on top of the boxes. The name reads WAGNER. And it's an old card. Are you sure? You should sell it and get rid of your debt and maybe buy a house or condo.

Why are you holding out on your parents?

Thank you! I figured I bought the Mantle white back a few weeks ago, I needed the Mays WB to match the GB.

Ignatius, what is the deal on the white back/grey back thing? I've read where some say white is special then I've read where some say there really isn't any difference between them?
