To be fair, Kelce is only 5 months younger than Gronk. Which is so strange since he has 3 fewer years in the league.

Edit to add: Kelce had a 5-year college career (redshirted one year, suspended another year) and Gronk only played 2, was injured for the third and declared early.

this will be a much different conversation in 4-5 years. Do you think Gronk plays next year? Probably hinges entirely on Brady‘s decision

Yes, by a lot.

Didn't read the thread and don't care to argue about it.

Sounds like Gronk is leaning towards retirement, but I think he comes back for one last rodeo once Brady re-ups

So how many more years does Kelce have left in him?

Kelce recently logged his 33rd game with 100 rec YDS passing Gronk for the most by a TE in NFL history.

I'd still take Gronk on my team. I've never seen a TE as feared down the field as he was. Many times defenses knew the ball was going to him and it didn't matter. His post-season success was ridiculous.

Kelce is awesome, but Gronk was the one that broke the mold of the TE-WR position.

before, you had guys like Novachek, Brent Jones, Heath Miller, Todd Heap, etc that were good, but they were game breakers in the sense of the 100-yard games or open the middle of the field vertically the way Gronk changed the game.

Kelce is awesome though.

Prime Gronk is a monster but I actually believe Kelce's postseason per game numbers are better...
Can't go wrong either way tho. At their best id probably go Gronk... But Kelce may end up better numbers. Probably end up 1a and 1b...could do same with WR. Moss more of a physical freak but Jerry Rice was just that guy every year (also much faster than his 40 time said if u watched him just run away from dudes).

Tony Gonzalez and Antonio Gates would like to have a word with you.

Gates is a level below those 3 but Gonzalez has to be in the conversation if he has the lifetime numbers.

those dudes were awesome, but idk if they were in the same mold as a Gronk or Kelce, TE's that could line up as WRs and take down CBs in the league.

Seems relevant to bump. 2 TDs in the first half from two different QBs.

Gronk is a BEAST pass catcher and blocker.

Silly thread.

Agreed compete package it goes to Gronk. Health and pass catching Kelce gets the edge. They both have soft hands though.

Gronk better blocker and red zone target. Huge mismatch one on one nearly unstoppable.

Kelce better pure receiver and much better after the catch.

Kelce, Gonzalez (imagine if he had the QB and offensive play designs of today), Gates, and then Gronk.

Done next subject.

Kelce is the best TE in the game today. but between him and Gronk, it's Gronk. he's already a 1st ballot HOFer, but imagine the stats he could have thrown up had he not gotten hurt all those times.

he would have been the Jerry Rice of TEs.
