I'm thinking about purchasing the 20-pack lot.

is anyone clear on how this works? is it cards 1-10 within series 1 currently up for sale? and then next month it will be cards 11-20? or is it random within series 1? i love how these boxes look like cigarette packs, and love the cardbacks. ginter just doesn't do it for me. these do.

This wave contains cards 1-50 in 10 card packs. Each subsequent wave will have the next 50 cards totaling 250 in the set.

gotta figure this is one of the better sets with trout and lux. Some of the other sets are going to be pretty dry.. In terms of sellable vet superstars, you only have Acuna left. Then Bichette and Yordan for sellable rookies. The way I see it, if you're not in for this first release or you should just sit out altogether.

I do agree this will probably be one of the better groups (along with Torres, and Alonso in this group of 50) - but also think Soto, Tatis, and Vlad Jr could easily be added to that group along with Acuna.

This just reeks of Topps Now style printing is why I'm hesitant. Sure they have the numbered parallels set already but doesn't mean they won't run the presses over the next month on the base/unnumbered parallels based on sales.

Maybe a hint of the auto odds would have been nice but I imagine too much to ask this early on... I'm definitely watching it but don't know if I will pull the trigger...

Disagree Trueblue, I think some of the waves with prospects will do just fine. Wonder if they got some kind of waiver to be able to put them in MLB uniforms in this issue. True to the old T206 set in which some players had multiple images (Cobb had 4, Chase had 5), Topps could also put Trout in 3 or more of the waves along with some others.

Looks like this might be Mike Schmidt's first Topps card since 2015.

That's a good point, could be a Trout Portrait, Trout Batting, etc.

I'm also guessing we will see Griffey and Jeter in a release, those will be nice sellers.

They won't know auto odds until all the orders are in.

This wave has a strong list of players, but it will also easily be the most ordered. So it's a balancing act.

All I know is I missed the boat with the early 2020 Project stuff and I'm kicking myself over it. Worst case scenario you make back what you paid on eBay.

sure, they could do that, but with just 250 cards, if you make 3 of them trout...that's pretty weak. Not saying the other waves with prospects will do bad. I'm just saying wave 1 is likely to be one of the better, if not best waves.

When thinking about the auto subjects and with on card autos have to consider the players Topps currently has contract with so would eliminate many but I think these are some that we might/could see from this wave. If there are others please add:

Mike Trout
Gavin Lux
Gerrit Cole
Noah Syndergaard
Pete Alonso
George Springer
Mariano Rivera
Carl Yastrzemski
Johnny Bench
Patrick Corbin
D. J. LeMahieu

Not sure if someone else said this, but they added the good ol' "* While Supplies Lasts".

Has anyone mentioned the 'Shipping delays' info banner on Topps?

*While supplies last has been added to the listing I think. Or has that always been there?

I don’t think that was there yesterday. I’m guessing sales weren’t what they expected

in for 20. I'll watch to see what other people pull before I decide to open or sell.

If this turns into a limited product rather than print to order, it will be a winner for sure. Wish they would just let it be known explicitly either way.

I think these throwback cards look great! Always liked when card companies did that sort of thing.
