I wouldn't say Optic is loaded unless you hit a Wentz, Dak, Zeke auto. More than likely you're going to get a $3.00 no name auto.

Back on topic, I do like the design of Optic and will eventually buy a set on ebay. Let me add, you have to be insane to buy Prizm at $140+ a box or Optic at $110 a box, 1 auto LOL.
The underlined is every product, ever (even Topps)

I'm glad people are loving this product but for $95+++ per box and contenders coming out this week, I will be happy to let someone else feel the pain and pick up singles on ebay.

Wow, I dont think I have laughed this hard about a message board review in a long time.

I honestly dont know how people are so bonkers over this product, the rated rookie photos are so terrible that it literally ruins what would have been a great on card set.

I dont care if it was a Dak auto per box, this would still be a freaking joke. Look past the players, look past the retro feel. Those photos. THE PHOTOS.

I think it's more a function of people really really really wanting something new to love out of Panini. Like really really really really.

If they made the rated rookie auto's like the Tyreek Hill auto I would go bonkers over this.............unfortunately, they did not....

On the flip side, quite a few people do seem upset that Optic did well despite their negative prognostications.

Surprising to see so many people hate on one of the first football products that many of us have bought in a while (I've been all baseball this year until Optic). Zeke and Dak are bringing some of the old school football collectors back to the hobby and throw the nostalgia of the Donruss look for us older folks and you have an instant hit.

Like it or not this is a good thing for the football card hobby. I haven't seen this many people busting football product since....well....topps chrome and it will carry on over to Contenders. I give Panini one of it's first A+ since taking over football for Topps.

I cannot say I was negative, but I think the prizm color refractors have a cleaner look. The holo and Carolina blue parallels look too. I have alike and only when you see the CB /50 do you know you have something different. Everyone loves the Tyreek autombeing in Optic, but it is a sticker, just like prizm. On card autos are always preferred, so optic got that right. Overall I still prefer prizm, but I have purchased both.

Huh? Topps Chrome had on card auto's and stickers just like Optic. You see the sticker auto's in optic right?

Yes, but most of those sticker autographs count as extra hits. I think maybe one box in my case had a sticker auto as the main hit (Eli Apple Blue Refractor Auto). Even the Hot Boxes have one On-Card hit in them. You get 10-12 On Card autographs per case. I have never seen a 12 box case of Topps Chrome that did not have a couple sticker autographs in as the main hit.

That would change my perception of this set. No idea why they chose to make the inserts from Donruss into the main hit, considering how stupid the pictures look.

I mean, look at Kenyan Drake.

DO THE HUSTLE!

With being off today I made trips to both my LCS that are normally about a day or two behind on markups. LCS 1, 10 minutes from home went from 79.99 to 109.99 lol. LCS 2 45 minutes away had gone from 65 to 99 since Friday. I was in for a shock because when I clicked up Blowouts "This just in" it had it marked at $75/box.

Missed the boat on this one with the holidays and not being into much football ripping since 2014. Congrats to those that got in. Anyone ripping at anything over $90, you may be slightly insane......but good luck!

What about Proptic? Prizim and Optic.

Oh wait, that is writing Prizim and Optic on opposite sides of a dummy card

Just add a P and an O in front of Optic.

Ok, how can anyone say Optic cards look better then Prizm?

Panini totally failed with not putting full etching on Optics

I like the photos and don't care about full etching, this is Chrome not Finest and it looks fine to me. You don't have to hate Optic to like Prizm or vice versa

You definitely could argue that Optic is the new Topps Chrome simply because it has a non chrome version and Prizm doesn't. Even so, the photos for the rated rookies are simply too up close and personal. I can't remember Topps chrome ever having photos THAT close up.

2010 had a few, but yes, it is very 1980's-ish for sure.

Personally, I love the retro look that Panini is doing with Optic. Rated Rookies with the 1987 Donruss look and the standard rookies with the 1990 style. I hope they continue this trend in the future.

In regards to the lack of action shots in Optic, have you ever seen 1987 Donruss baseball? Damn near every card is a portrait picture of the player in an empty stadium. I think it was a nice homage to a "vintage" card design.
