You remember that I am doing half the work she is supposed to be doing. She would be even more overwhelmed as a manager if I wasn't handling all of the things I am for her.

And you are correct. I think while they need to cut a lot of the fat out of the government, they aren't doing into very efficiently right now. It's too chaotic.

As I said yesterday, the government is very bad at writing contracts and what contracting companies do, is write to that and then beg for more money and more positions later. It's also a race to the bottom regarding how much each company can monetarily do the contract as they always have this idea that you have to be the cheapest. This last contract of ours was a mess because of the way our company handled it. I'm pretty sure the government will not be awarding the follow on to us. Hopefully that gives me an opportunity to leave the company if I'm not already gone.

It seems impossible now to get a new primary care doctor here in VA. I called 2 this morning and neither are taking new patients; one was in Fredericksburg and one was in King George. I left a message with another one in King George and am waiting a call back.

Customer service might be able to give you some providers accepting new patients. We struggled to find the boys a new dentist. I wasn't about to take them back to the last place though. She was so rough she broke a bracket during a cleaning. My son said she was in a rush and she was hurting him. I wanted to punch her in the face. Don't need charges though.

My infusion, originally scheduled for tomorrow, has been moved up to this evening. She will get here sometime around 6. I expect to have a nap between now and then as I can barely keep my eyes open.

The other doctor in King George called me back when I was at lunch. They aren't accepting new patients until September 2026. The are afilliated with the hospital in Fredericksburg. They said the office in Bowling Green is accepting new patients in April. I may just call all of the rest of the suggested doctors on my insurance in Fredericksburg first since it is closer than Bowling Green.

not really. about the same distance wise, but i would bet bowling green is quicker depending on where you have to get to in fred

I took a PTO day to accompany my wife on a day trip to to buy crystals in Quartzite, AZ. We took off after dropping the kids at school and just arrived. My first time here, it reminds me of the rock and crystal version of Sturgis. Tons of folks around- most older than me. While the wife negotiates with her Moroccan dealer I found a beer tent with a guy playin country tunes. Who knew at noon on a Tuesday?! Glad I came.

They know at work that I don’t like being around drinking. Some of us are going to a conference Thursday and Friday, and Thursday night there’s a social. I asked if there would be alcohol and they said yes, so I asked if I had to go. They said it’s part of the conference and we’re expected to be there to network. I really don’t want to go to be around people drinking.
